Actor Karthi briefly wandered off to Tollywood to play a cameo in actor Nani’s Hit: The Third Case which hit screens under the direction of Sailesh Kolanu with actress Srinidhi Shetty as female lead. The Dev star is now eagerly awaiting his homecoming with the upcoming Tamil Telugu bilingual action thriller christened Vaa Vaathiyaar, in which he will be seen in the role of a cop. The Telugu installment of the entertainer has been named as Annagaru Vastaru.
Director Nalan Kumarasamy, who has already made his mark in Kollywood with films like Soodhu Kavvum and Kadhalum Kadandhu Pogum, has inked and helmed the drama. Actresses Krithi Shetty of The Warriorr fame, and Shilpa Manjunath of Ispade Rajavum Idhaya Raniyum fame have been cast as female leads in the movie. Vaa Vaathiyaar is poised to release in theaters worldwide on 12th of December. The production house has now dropped a single from the flick on social media.
Taking to his official X profile, actor Karthi himself shared a link to the third single ‘Mu Dha La Li’ from Vaa Vaathiyaar and captioned it, “Mu Dha La Li is Here. Singers Santhosh Narayanan and Sublahshini have lent their voices for the song. Lyricist Durai has penned lyrics for the track. Music director Santhosh Narayanan has been trusted with the musical division of the entertainer. Already two singles ‘Uyir Pathikaama’ in the lyrics of Vivek sung by Aditya Ravindran, Vijay Narain, & Santhosh Narayanan, and ‘Aalapikkey Ummak’ written by Kelithee in the vocals of Kelithee & Santhosh Narayanan is out from the album.
Vaa Vaathiyaar marks the third association of Santhosh Narayanan and Nalan Kumarasamy following their chartbusters in Soodhu Kavvum and Kadhalum Kadandhu Pogum. It is also his third collaboration with actor Karthi after the duo’s success in Madras and Kaashmora. The entertainer was scheduled to hit the screens for Pongal this year. But due to unknown reasons it got postponed.
The star cast of Vaa Vaathiyaar also comprises actors Rajkiran, Anand Raj, Ramesh Thilak, Karunakaran, Sathyaraj, P L Thenappan, G M Sundar, Vadivukkarasi, Vidhya Borgia, Madhur Mittal, and Nivas Adhitan. Cinematographer George C Williams has been behind camera for the flick. Editor Vetre Krishnan has been bestowed with the responsibility to trim the movie.
Art director Kiran Drk has engineered sets for the flick. Action director ‘Anl’ Arasu has choreographed action moves for the film. Vaa Vaathiyaar is backed by K E Gnanavel Raja and Neha Gnanavel Raja under their banner house Studio Green. The post theatrical rights of the project, has been bagged by Amazon Prime Video.
On the professional side, actor Karthi will soon have his next release in Sardar 2 directed by story teller P S Mithran in which he has performed alongside actresses Malavika Mohanan and Raashii Khanna. The Kadaikutty Singam actor is presently engaged is his upcoming ventures Marshal scripted by director Thamizh in which he will be seen alongside actress Kalyani Priyadarshan, and Kaithi 2 crafted by Lokesh Kanagaraj in which he will be reuniting with actors Arjun Das and Narain.
On the other hand, actress Krithi Shetty is anticipating successive releases in Genie helmed by Bhuvanesh Arjunan in which she has shared screen space with actors Ravi Mohan & Kalyani Priyadarshan, and Love Insurance Kompany filmed by Vignesh Shivan in which she has teamed up with actors Pradeep Ranganathan and S J Suryah.
