There are actors who are good at comedy in Tamil cinema. Then there are actors who can even turn a badly written joke in to an entertaining one with their timing sense and expressions. Actor Vaibhav is irrefutably one such actor. For some reasons the actor is having a rough time lately. He has not delivered a decent box office hit in a long time. And is banking a lot on his next venture to earn back his commercial lead hero image in the industry. At present, the actor is gearing up for the release of his next entertainer christened Buffoon which went on floors last year. The comedy drama is helmed by film maker Ashok Veerappan.
Now, the production house has dropped the teaser of the flick on social media. Actor Sivakarthikeyan has launched the teaser of the drama. Taking to his official twitter account, the actor shared the teaser of Buffoon, and wrote, “Happy to launch the interesting teaser of Buffoon next film from Stone Bench Films presented by Karthik Subbaraj starring Vaibhav. The one minute or so short cut, opens with a voiceover of a policeman talking about a smuggler named Dhanabal. The voice gives a little introduction to the character and says how difficult it is for the department to catch him. All the while, we see rugged Vaibhav ride on a ship with a bunch of men, and kicking henchmen. Actor Vaibhav seems to have gone a bit out of his comfort zone from comedy, and seems to have essayed an out and out mass action hero character. The actor looks stunning in the character. The teaser hints at an intense crime drama between gangs in the smuggling business and the police on the hunt to put an end to their illegal activities. The teaser sure does pique our interest. With wide range shots, shadow sequences, and murky lighting, the cinematography looks fascinating as well. The entertainer is getting shaped in the post production and will be sent for a certification shortly after that. The venture is expected to hit the screens in the month of May.
Apart from actor Vaibhav, the project has actress Anagha L. K in the female lead role. The cast of the drama includes Joju George, Naren, Moonar Ramesh, Anthakudi Ilaiyaraja, Tamizh, Madurai M. P. Vishwanathan, and Adukalam Jeyabalan. The musical instruments for the venture, has been handled by music director Santhosh Narayanan. Cinematographer Dinesh Purushothaman has cranked the camera for the film. Editor Vetre Krishnan will be taking care of the editing department. The entertainer is bankrolled by Kaarthekeyen Santhanam under the production house Stone Bench Films along with Sudhan Sundaram and G Jayaram of banner house Passion Studios.
On the work front, actor Vaibhav who was last seen in Malaysia to Amnesia is currently busy shooting for his next project titled Aalambana helmed by film maker Pari K Vijay in which he will be sharing the screen space with actress Parvati Nair. Besides this, he has his long-delayed project Kaatteri in his pipeline awaiting release.
