Madhavan’s Legacy Teaser: A Power Struggle To Claim Father’s Throne!

Actor Madhavan had his last outing in Bollywood in the spy action thriller film Dhurandhar helmed by Aditya Dhar with actors Ranveer Singh and Sara Arjun in lead roles. The Irudhi Suttru actor will soon have a release in the digital space via the upcoming series christened Legacy. Story teller Charukesh Sekar, who previously helmed the series Triples, has directed the series. He has co-written the story with writers Harisudhan Palanisamy and Abhishek Paulraj. 

Actresses Nimisha Sajayan of Chithha fame and Swasika Vijay of Lubber Pandhu fame have been cast in the female lead roles in the entertainer. Actor Gautham Ram Karthik has played a prominent role in the project. The series will soon stream on Netflix OTT platform in languages Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi. The makers have now shared the teaser of the drama on social media. 

Taking to his official X profile, actor Gautham Ram Karthik himself dropped the teaser of Legacy and worded, “Samraajiyam, simmasanam ellaam irukku. Aana andha kreedatha aniya thaguthi yaarukku irukku? Watch Legacy on Netflix, coming soon in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam. Legacy. Legacy On Netflix. Next On Netflix India. Kalyan Shankar, Karthik Subbaraj, Charukesh Sekar, Madhavan, Gulshan Devaia, Netflix India.” Here is the post made by the actor. 

One minute teaser of Legacy starts with the voiceover of actor Madhavan, “Only one thing rivals the speed of an idea. Fire – it knows no bias. Does not matter who holds the match, it burns!” It cuts to a man saying, “A loyal cavalry. Political weight. The faith of the people. A blood bound family. The four pillars of Periyavar’s unshakeable fortress. We break them, one by one.” 

Subsequently, an individual mouths, “Politics is like musical chairs. Claim the seat, but sit too long and you are finished! You must get on your feet occasionally. Even a lion is feared when it stands.” In a scene we see actor Madhavan warning someone, “Holding on to your throne, no matter what, is your right. Upholding the faith of those who trust me is my right!” 

The teaser ends with a character advising Madhavan, “Many make the same mistake. Do not err like they do. Choose your successor while you still breathe.” Legacy is hyped to be an intense gritty political drama that follows the life of a politician and the battle for succession within his family. 

Apart from Madhavan, Nimisha Sajayan, and Swasika Vijay, the casting unit of Legacy also has actors Abhishek Banerjee, Vasundhara Kashyap, Gulshan Devaiah, Kaali Venkat, Vaiyapuri, Ramesh Thilak, Vivek Prasanna, Harish Uthaman, John Mahendran, and Saras Menon essaying various supporting characters. Music director Ilaiyaraaja has worked on the musical division of the film. 

Cinematographer T R Vishnu has overseen the cinematography department of the venture. Editor Shafique Mohamed Ali has been brought on board to bring coherence to the flick. Art director G Durairaj has designed the background for the drama. stunt directors G N Murugan and Phoenix Prabu have choreographed action moves for the project. The entertainer is produced by Karthik Subbaraj in affiliation with Kalyan Subramanian and Kaarthekeyen Santhanam under the production house Stone Bench. 

On the work side, actor Madhavan is awaiting the release of his next Hindi drama Dhurandhar: The Revenge filmed by Aditya Dhar in which he has starred alongside actors Ranveer Singh & Sara Arjun, and Dhamaal 4 helmed by Indra Kumar in which he has shared screen space with actors Ajay Devgn & Sanjay Dutt. The Vikram Vedha actor is presently shooting for his future Tamil flick Benz crafted by Bakkiyaraj Kannan in which he will be costarring with actors Raghava Lawrence & Nivin Pauly, Suriya 43 scripted by Sudha Kongara in which he will be joining forces with actors Suriya & Dulquer Salmaan, and G.D.N directed by Krishnakumar Ramakumar in which he will be teaming up with actress Priyamani.
