Actor Jai had his last outing in the romantic comedy film Baby And Baby which hit the screens under the direction of story teller Prathap with actors Yogi Babu, Pragya Nagra, and Sathyaraj in lead roles. The Coffee With Kadhal actor is now getting ready for the release of his next romantic drama christened Sattendru Maarudhu Vaanilai. Debutant director Babu Vijay, erstwhile assistant of A R Murugadoss, has written and directed the movie.
Actress Meenakshi Govindarajan of Vattakhanal fame has played the female lead role in the movie. Actor Yogi Babu will be seen as actor Jai’s sidekick. The production house is endeavoring to bring the film to theaters by the end of this month. An official release date is expected to be announced soon. Meanwhile, the makers have now dropped the first single from the drama on social media.
Taking to his official X handle, actor Jai himself unveiled a special poster along with a link to the first single ‘Akkadi’ from Sattendru Maarudhu Vaanilai and captioned it, “Speakers ready? “Akkadi Koluththu Pakkadi” from Sattendru Maarudhu Vaanilai is OUT NOW! Veteran musician and singer Thenisai Thendral Deva has lent his voice for the song. Music composer Girishh Gopalakrishnan has scored music for the entertainer. He has also co-written the lyrics of the number with lyricist M S Krsna. The track is mixed and mastered by Sai Shravanam. Dance master Sandy has choreographed dance moves for the song.
Earlier talking to a leading media house, director Babu Vijay said, “The title promises a breezy romantic film. But the movie also has a contrasting side of custodial torture. The plot of the story revolves around a man who gets mistakenly embroiled in a crime and gets arrested. This drama will be a concoction of Vetrimaaran, Mani Ratnam, and A R Murugadoss’s works.”
Speaking about how actor Jai agreed to be on board he revealed, “When I narrated the story to him, he was very impressed. He told me that this is the best story he has heard since Raja Rani. He hugged me and agreed to be a part of it. I think this project will be a good launch for me and a turning point in actor Jai’s career.”
The title of the drama is inspired by a song from Vaaranam Aayiram. Apart from Jai, Yogi Babu, and Meenakshi Govindarajan, the casting unit of Sattendru Maarudhu Vaanilai also has actors Garuda Ram, Sriman, Adthiya Kathir, and Sathyan depicting various supporting characters. Cinematographer Richard M Nathan has taken care of the cinematography division of the flick.
Editor Darling Richardson has been bestowed with the responsibility to bring coherence to the entertainer. Art director Kannan has designed the background for the drama. Stunt director Murali G had choreographed action moves for the venture. Sattendru Maarudhu Vaanilai is produced by Babu Vijay under the production label BV Frames.
On the work side, actor Jai is now occupied on his next venture Texla scripted by Aishwarya Rajinikanth in which he will be costarring with actors Suraj Venjaramoodu & G M Sundar, Worker crafted by Vinay Krishna in which he will be collaborating with actress Reeshma Nanaiah, Khaki filmed by A Senthil Kumar in which he will be partnering with actors Vijay Antony & Indhuja Ravichandran, and Karuppar Nagaram helmed by Gopi Nainar in which he will be romancing actress Aishwarya Rajesh.
On the other hand, actress Meenakshi Govindarajan will soon have a release in digital space via Kaithri crafted by Siddharth Ram in which she will be seen alongside actors Karthik Kumar & Priya Dhivyadarshini. The Kennedy Club actress is presently shooting for her next film Demonte Colony 3 filmed by director R Ajay Gnanamuthu in which she will be sharing screen space with actors Arulnithi & Priya Bhavani Shankar, Kadhale Kadhale helmed by Premnath in which she will be featuring alongside actors Advaith, Anshitha Anji & Bharathiraja, and My Dear Sister scripted by story teller Prabhu Jeyaram in which she will be Joining forces with actors Arulnithi, Mamta Mohandas, and S Rajapandi.
