Actor Shanmuga Pandian Vijayakant last graced the silver screens in the action entertainer Padai Thalaivan helmed by U Anbu with actress Yamini Chander in the female lead role. The Madura Veeran actor will have a release next weekend in the action drama Kombuseevi. Director Ponram, who is known for his rural movies like Varuthapadatha Valibar Sangam and Rajini Murugan, has written and helmed the project.
Actress Tharnika will open her account in Tamil cinema with her female lead in the film. The entertainer which was supposed to be released for Christmas has been pre-poned to 19th of December. The production house has now unveiled the trailer of the flick on social media.
Taking to his official X profile, actor Shanmuga Pandian Vijayakant himself shared a special poster along with a link to the trailer of Kombuseevi and wrote, “Presenting the Thaaru Maaru Majaa Maxx trailer of Kombuseevi. Two minutes long trailer of Kombuseevi opens to the voiceover of actor Sarath Kumar, “You do not get to leave once you are in this business.” The shot cuts to someone warning, “You are dead if you get caught. But if you succeed, you will see paradise.” Then we have the intro of actor Sarath Kumar who enunciates a punch dialogue, “Your mind must be sharper than your knife. Take the gun, Pandi.” We are then introduced to Shanmuga Pandian who says, “Give us back the village the dam drowned. Then we will stop.”
We have a cop in the picture who tells Shanmuga Pandian, “If you want respect, do a respectful job.” The trailer ends with a scene where Shanmuga Pandian tells a cop, “For what we pulled off in Andhra, my uncle should get a Padma Bhushan. And I should get a Kalaimamani right beside him.” He instructs his men, “Whack them.” They are whacked while Sarath Kumar mouths, “Hey, they hit us for everything we say. Just keep your mouth shut.”
Kombuseevi is hyped to be a gangster movie based on real life incidents that transpired in the 90s in the neighborhoods of Usilampatti and Andipatti. Music composer Yuvan Shankar Raja has scored music for the flick. Already two tracks ‘Unna Naan Paatha’ and an item number ‘Vasthara’ are out from the album.
The star cast of Kombuseevi also includes veteran actor R Sarath Kumar, Kaali Venkat, Anaira Gupta, and Kalki Raja. Cinematographer Balasubramaniam has overseen the cinematography division of the project. Editor Dinesh Ponraj has trimmed the movie.
Art director Saravana Abiram has engineered the background for the venture. Stunt masters Phoenix Prabhu and Sakthi Saravanan have choreographed action moves for the film. Kombuseevi is bankrolled by Mukesh T Chelliah under the production label Star Cinemas.
On the work front, actor Shanmuga Pandian is currently engaged in his future untitled entertainer directed by Anbarasan in which he will be co-starring with actress Yamini Chander.
On the other hand, actor Sarath Kumar is now working on his next project Ezham Iravil filmed by Akhil M Bose, and Samaran crafted by Thirumalai Baluchamy in which he will be performing alongside actors Vidharth & Suhasini. Apart from these films, the Por Thozhil actor has a handful of his long-delayed entertainers Naa Naa directed by N V Nirmal Kumar in which he has partnered with actors Sasikumar, Haripriya, & Chitra Shukla, Mr. X helmed by Manu Anand in which he has featured alongside actors Arya, Manju Warrier, & Gautham Karthik, and Aazhi – The Ocean helmed by Madhav Ramadasan in the trunk awaiting release.
