Jockey Teaser: A Raw Rustic Sport And Gangster Drama!

Actor Yuvan Krishna last graced the silver screens in a supporting role in the romantic comedy film Love Marriage which hit theaters under the direction of Shanmuga Priyan with actors Vikram Prabhu and Sushmitha Bhat in lead roles. The Muddy actor is now getting ready for the release of his upcoming action-adventure drama christened Jockey. Director Dr. Pragabhal, who previously worked with the actor in Muddy, has written and crafted the movie. 

Actress Ammu Abhirami of Jama fame has portrayed the female lead part in the entertainer. Actor Ridhaan Krishnas has essayed a prominent role in the project. Jockey was initially scheduled to release on 14th of January. But due to reasons best known to the makers, it got indefinitely postponed. A new release date is expected to be announced soon. Meanwhile, the production house has now released the teaser of the venture on social media. 

Taking to their official X profile, the team of PK7 Studios shared the teaser of Jockey and wrote, “JOCKEY OFFICIAL TEASER. From the makers of MUDDY comes something the Indian screen has never witnessed before. For the first time, witness the intense pride and power of Tamil Nadu traditional cultural goat fight – a sport never captured on film. Adrenaline-packed action. Raw em.” Here is the post made by the production house. 

One minute teaser of Jockey opens to an aerial shot of a convoy entering a playground to the voiceover, “Madurai’s star in goat fight.” Then we have a female voiceover, “Goat fight means, it is him, ‘Madurai Jockey.’” We are introduced to Yuvan Krishna, a carouser who is passionate about goat fighting. In a scene he says, “Goat fighting is not a sport for me. It is my passion. My birth is for the game.” 

Subsequently he mouths a punch, “Ramar did you think I just know about goat fight. I know rowdyism more than that. Raw Madurai rowdyism.” Following which a character tells him, “Even a small boy can take up a knife. But to take part in a goat fight one needs tenacity.” Then we witness him telling someone, “This is not to be ended with a dagger. It must be finished on the playground.” 

Earlier talking to a leading media house about the film, director Dr. Pragabhal said, “Jockey in a way is a multi-genre film. It is an animal sport and gangster drama. The rivalry in the sport spills over to personal level. There will be intense action in the goat fight sport as well as between the participants of the sport. It will be a refreshing cinematic experience for the audience.” 

Star cast of the flick also comprises actors Saranya Ravi, Madhusudhan Rao, Yogi, Sithan Mohan, Sai Dinesh, Kali, Phathmen, Aathav, Praveen, Eesha, and Chidambaram. Music composer Sakthi Balaji has been roped in to handle musical instruments for the movie. Already two tracks ‘Kapura Gethu’ written by Snekan in the vocals of G V Prakash Kumar, and ‘Alangaari’ in the lyrics of R Lavarathan sung by Sathya Prakash & Rakshita Suresh are out from the album. 

Cinematographer N S Uthayakumar has overseen the cinematography department of the project. Editor N B Srikanth has been brought on board to bring coherence to the venture. Art director Pappanadu C Uthayakumar has designed the background for the drama. Stunt master Prabhu Jacky has fashioned action moves for the flick. The film is backed by Prema Krishnadas, C Devadas, and Jaya Devadas under the production label PK7 Studios LLP. 

On the work front, actress Ammu Abhirami is expecting the release of her next flick Robinhood filmed by director Karthik Venugopal, and B. E helmed by Vikie Baskarraj in which she has collaborated with actress Smruthi Venkat. The Adharma Kadhaigal actress is presently shooting for her future Telugu project Gods and Soldiers scripted by Vijay Milton in which she will be co-starring with actors Raj Tarun and Jeeva Subramanian.
