Actor Arun Vijay lastly played the antagonist part in the action movie Idly Kadai directed and headlined by actor Dhanush K Raja with actresses Nithya Menen and Shalini Pandey in the female lead roles. The Thadam actor is now gearing up for the release of the upcoming action thriller Retta Thala in which he will be back in the lead role. Director Kris Thirukumaran, who drew the attention of audiences with ventures like Maan Karate and Gethu, has inked and crafted the movie.
Actresses Siddhi Idnani of Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu fame and Tanya Ravichandran of Rasavathi fame will be seen in the female lead roles in the project. Retta Thala was shot in and around the neighborhoods of Chennai, Tharangampadi, Pondicherry, and Goa. The production house had recently publicized that the drama will be releasing in theaters worldwide on 25th of December. Now they have dropped the third single from the album on social media.

Music composer Sam C S has handled musical gears for the entertainer. He has written lyrics and sung the number. The track is mixed and mastered by Avinash Sathish. Two songs ‘Kannamma’ in the lyrics of Sam C S & vocals of Dhanush K Raja, and ‘Kandara Kolli’ penned by Viveka & crooned by Sivam are already out from the album.
The nearly three minutes track has a reddish color temperature and dark low-key lighting throughout the video. Retta Thala is touted to be a bloody gangster action thriller set in Chennai and Goa. Actor Arun Vijay is said to have essayed a dual role in the entertainer. Interestingly, A R Murugadoss who held the rights for the name ‘Retta Thala’ for a project shaped for actor Ajith Kumar relinquished the rights. Actor Arun Vijay thanked him on social media for his kind act.
Apart from Arun Vijay, Tanya Ravichandran, and Siddhi Idnani, casting unit of Retta Thala also includes actors Bigg Boss fame Balaji Murugadoss, John Vijay, Vincent Ashokan, Hareesh Peradi, Nitish Nirmal, Yogesh Samy, and Yog Japee essaying various supporting roles. Cinematographer Tijo Tomy has operated the camera for the flick.
Editor Anthony has been trusted with the editing department of the project. Art director Arun Shankar Durai has engineered the background for the venture. Stunt director Prabhu Chandrasekar has choreographed action blocks for the film. Retta Thala is funded by Bobby Balachandran under his production label BTG Universal.
On the work side, actor Arun Vijay has a couple of films lined up in his pipeline for release in Agni Siragugal crafted by Naveen in which he has costarred with actors Vijay Antony & Akshara Haasan, Boxer scripted by Vivek K Kannan in which he has featured alongside actresses Ritika Singh & Sanjjanaa Galrani, and Borrder filmed by Arivazhagan.
On the other hand, actress Siddhi Idnani will next be seen on screens in Nooru Kodi Vaanavil scripted by Sasi in which she has collaborated with actor Harish Kalyan. Actress Tanya Ravichandran is presently engaged in her next untitled film helmed by Manikandan in which she will be teaming up with actors Jiiva and Amyra Dastur.
