Actress Andrea Jeremiah had her last outing in the action thriller drama Mask which hit theaters under the direction of newbie storyteller Vikarnan Ashok with actor Kavin in the lead role. The Vada Chennai actress will soon grace the silver screens in the upcoming adventure thriller film titled Kaa: The Forest. Debutant director Nanjil has written and directed the flick.
Late actor Salim Ghouse has depicted a crucial character in the drama. The entertainer went on floors a long back and has been under production since. The movie was scheduled to hit theaters on 28th of March 2024. But it got indefinitely delayed due to financial tussle. Everything seems to have been sorted out now and the venture is nearing release. An official release date is expected to be announced soon. Taking to his official X handle, actor Kayal Devaraj shared a special poster along with a link to the trailer of Kaa: The Forest and wrote, “Get ready for a gripping ride Kaa – The Forest Official Trailer Out Now. The nearly two minute trailer of Kaa: The Forest opens to late actor Salim Ghouse standing on a cliff and introducing himself, “Mahadevan . . . Victor Mahadevan. What is your last message for the world?” A woman responds, “Sing or dance on Tiktok. But do not talk about politics. Especially, never post against those in power on Facebook.”
Following which she is executed. The shot cuts to an active bee hive and pans to an aerial shot of the forest. Then we are introduced to actress Andre Jeremiah who says, “I am Venba Subbaiah. A wildlife photographer is welcome to the jungle.” Then we have a few montage shots of her working in the wild. We witness a couple of murders take place.
Subsequently, we see actor Salim Ghouse saying, “It is the order of nature. Time for death has arrived. I must balance birth and death. I must balance creation.” Following which many individuals are hacked to death. In a scene we witness actress Andre Jeremiah stuck inside a room calling for help through a transmitter, “Hello, can anyone hear me. Two people have been killed inside the forest.”
Apart from Andrea Jeremiah, Salim Ghouse, and G. Marimuthu, the cast of Kaa: The Forest also has actors Kamalesh, Daffe Naveen, Arjun Singh, Nivas Babu, Akshita, Shresha, Karthick Raja, Jessi Rukumani, Raj Mohan, Jessica, Banu Shankar, Advath, Munnar Subbu, Raja Sekar, and Vijay Senathipathi portraying various supporting roles. Music director Sundar C. Babu has scored music for the entertainer. Cinematographer Arivazhagan has been behind the lens for the project.
Editor Elisa has been brought on board to bring coherence to the flick. Art director Tapas Nayak has engineered sets for the project. Stunt master Tony has choreographed action moves. Kaa: The Forest is produced by John Max under the banner house Shalom Studios. Antony Doss MD has acquired the theatrical rights of the flick and will be presenting the entertainer under the banner Sasikala Production.
On the work front, actress Andrea Jeremiah is looking at consecutive releases in Pisaasu 2 crafted by story teller Mysskin in which she has teamed up with actors Vijay Sethupathi & Poorna, Manushi directed by Gopi Nainar in which she has costarred with actors Hakkim Shah, & Nassar, and No Entry helmed by director R Alagu Karthik in which she has collaborated with actor Aadhav Kannadasan.
