Actor Ajay Dhishan set foot in Kollywood last year with his supporting role in his uncle Vijay Antony’s Maargan crafted by Leo John Paul. He has played the lead in his sophomore Tamil Telugu bilingual romantic drama titled Pookie. The Telugu installment of the entertainer is titled Bookie. Cinematographer Ganesh Chandra is set to make his debut as a director with the movie. Writer Puthiya Parithi has written the story, dialogues, and shaped screenplay of the film.
Actress R K Dhanusha will open her books in Tamil cinema with her female lead role in the drama. Veteran actor Pandiarajan has essayed the role of Ajay Dhishan’s father in the film. The makers have already publicized that the entertainer will be releasing in theaters worldwide on 13th of February. They have been aggressively promoting the project for a while by dropping singles and promos from the movie on social media. They have now unveiled the trailer of the flick.
Taking to his official X account, actor Vijay Antony shared a special poster along with a link to the trailer of Pookie and wrote, “Here’s the trailer of POOKIE. Sorry for the technical delay. Worth the wait, we promise. 2 days to go In cinemas worldwide from Feb 13. Pookie The Movie, Ajay Dhishan, R K Dhanusha, Vijay Antony.” Here is the post made by the musician.
The two minutes odd trailer of Pookie starts with a pic of actor Silambarasan from Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa to his voiceover, “I do not know how to express the story inside my heart, but I will tell you the story of my heart.” Then we have montage shots of romantic moments between actors Ajay Dhishan and R K Dhanusha with a romantic song running in the background.
Following which actor Ajay Dhishan is introduced as a mass hero. But we see him getting hit by a lot of people. Subsequently actress R K Dhanusha is presented as a bubbly heroine. The scene cuts to actor Sunil telling her, “Child you have pain in you. You deserve a better life.” In a shot we see her friend asking her whether she has sent any nudes to her lover.
In the middle of the trailer, they break up. They try to cope with the heartbreak. A voiceover says, “Even if god decides to unite them, will their friends allow it?” Then we witness friends of Ajay Dhishan and R K Dhanusha’s gaslighting them into hating each other. Actor Vijay Antony is introduced as a villain at the end of the trailer.
Apart from Ajay Dhishan, R K Dhanusha, and Pandiarajan, the star cast of the film also has Telugu actor Sunil, Radha, Black Pandi, Aaditya Kathir, Vivek Prasanna, Mridhula, Lakshmi Manchu, Indumathi Manigandan, Anjali, M. J. Shriram, Priyanka, Bigg Boss Sathya, Manda Fack, Varun, Ashwin Ram, Aishwarya Ragupathi, Arun, Shaju, Rajamani Paati, Thanga Prakash, Shiyara Sharmi, and Sathya portray various supporting roles.
Music composer Vijay Antony has taken care of the musical division of the drama. Four songs ‘Love Advice’, ‘Pudikaley Pudikaley’, ‘Manasu Valikithu’, and ‘Jilley Juice’ are out from the album. Vijay Antony has also handled the editing department of the movie. Director Ganesh Chandra has shouldered camera for the flick.
Art director Pragatheeswaran Paneerselvam has engineered sets for the project. Stunt director Prabhu Jacky has fashioned action moves for the film. The movie is funded by Vijay Antony himself along with his wife Fatima Vijay Antony under the production house Vijay Antony Film Corporation.
On the professional front, actor Ajay Dhishan is staring at his next release in Nooru Saami scripted by Sasi in which he has depicted a supporting role alongside actors Vijay Antony and Kavya Anil.
