Actor Vijay Sethupathi was last seen on screens in the period political crime thriller Viduthalai Part 2 helmed by Vetrimaaran with Malayalam actress Manju Warrier as female lead. The Maharaja actor is now gearing up for his next release titled Ace. Director P Arumuga Kumar, who previously collaborated with actor Vijay Sethupathi in the black comedy project Oru Nalla Naal Paathu Solren, has inked and directed the film. Kannada actress Rukmini Vasanth will make her debut in Kollywood with her female lead role in the movie. Comedian Yogi Babu has played the sidekick of the star in the drama. The production house has already announced that the entertainer will be releasing on 23rd of May. The makers have now unveiled the trailer of the film on social media. Taking to his official X profile, actor Vijay Sethupathi dropped a poster from the entertainer along with a link to the trailer of Ace and worded, “The Ultimate Showdown Aarambam. Three minute long trailer of Ace opens with someone asking Vijay Sethupathi, “What are you going to do there?” He responds, “I am going to erase my old identity, and live as an ordinary man.” In a subsequent shot he introduces himself as Bold Kannan to a woman. When asked about the meaning of the name, he says, “If something bad happens in front of me, I will boldly confront it.” The shot cuts to him introducing himself as Bolt Kannan to Yogi Babu. When enquired, he tells him, “I steal bolts from cars, bikes, cycles and sell them. There are sites for this in dark web.” The trailer ends with a reference to actor Sivakarthikeyan.
Star cast of the project also includes actors Alvin Martin, Rajkumar, B S Avinash, Jasper Supayah, Babloo Prithviraj, Zahrinaris, Divya Pillai, Priscilla Nair, Nagulan, Muthu Kumar, Denes Kumar, and Kaarthick Jay. Music composer Justin Prabhakaran has scored music for the venture. Already a single titled ‘Urugudhu Urugudhu’ from the album is out. Cinematographer Karan B Rawat has cranked the camera for the flick. Editor R Govindaraj has been hired to edit the venture. Art director C K Mujabir Rahmaan has designed sets for the film. Action director Sudheesh has choreographed action moves for the drama. The flick is backed by director P Arumuga Kumar himself under the banner house 7 Cs Entertainment.
On the professional front, actor Vijay Sethupathi will soon have consecutive releases in Mysskin’s directorial Pisasu 2 in which he has performed alongside actresses Andrea Jeremiah & Poorna, and Train in which he has collaborated with actors Ira Dayanand, Narain, & Nassar, and Thalaivan Thalaivii directed by Pandiraj in which he has partnered with actress Nithya Menen. On the other hand, actor Yogi Babu will soon be seen on screens in Miss Maggie filmed by Latha R Maniyarasu in which he has shared screen space with Madhampatty T P Rangaraj & Aathmika, Evidence helmed by Ranjith Manikandan in which he has co starred with actor Sasikumar, Medical Miracle crafted by K Johnson in which he will be seen alongside with actress Dharsha Gupta of Cook with Comali fame, and Malai directed by IP Murugesh in which he teamed up actress Lakshmi Menon.
