Actor Vetri lastly entertained audiences in the action thriller film Muthal Pakkam scripted by Anish Ashraf with actress Shilpa Manjunath as female lead. The 8 Thottakkal actor is now getting ready for the release of his next investigative crime thriller flick Lakshmikanthan Kolai Vazhakku. Director Dayal Padmanabhan, who rose to limelight with films like Kondraal Paavam and Maruthi Nagar Police Station, has crafted the drama. He has sought the assistance of writer Kavitha Bharathi to write the story. 

Actress Brigida Saga of Kozhipannai Chelladurai fame has portrayed the female lead role in the movie. Lakshmikanthan Kolai Vazhakku is slated to release in theaters on 10th of July. The makers had recently released a single from the album on social media. They have now unveiled the trailer of the drama. 

Taking to their official X profile, the team of 2M Cinemas shared a special poster along with a link to the trailer of Lakshmikanthan Kolai Vazhakku and worded, “Here’s the Official Trailer of Lakshmikanthan Kolai Vazhakku. The two minutes odd trailer of Lakshmikanthan Kolai Vazhakku opens to actor Vetri telling someone, “There is no such thing as fate. Everybody’s slate is clean. We can write what we want to write.” The shot cuts to a loan shark humiliating Vetri. Following which we have his friend asking him, “There is no embarrassment or shame in a politician’s son succeeding him. Why should there be any when a thief’s son follows his path?” 

Subsequently, actor Vetri tells actress Brigida Saga, “Situation got the best out of me and I became a robber.” In a scene actor Vetri says, “Our people take great interest in each other’s story. It is very appealing to them. If it is a story of an inmate, their interest explodes.” The trailer ends with actor Rangaraj Pandey’s voiceover, “According to Indian penal code 302 you have been sentenced to death by the courts.”

Lakshmikanthan Kolai Vazhakku is inspired by true events that took place in 1944 involving the stabbing of cinema reporter Lakshmikanthan which led to the arrest of then superstars M K Thyagaraja Bhagavathar and N S Krishnan. The casting unit of Lakshmikanthan Kolai Vazhakku also comprises actors Saravanan, Lizzi Antony, Kanya Bharathi, Subramaniam Shiva, Aruvi Madhan, Kavitha Bharathi, Rangaraj Pandey, Lollu Sabha Maaran, Narmadha, Ilavarasu, Logan Kannan, and Veerapandiyan Suba. 

Music composer Darbuka Siva has scored music for the flick. Already a single ‘Kaadhal Seiveer’ sung by Vijay Prakash and Pavithra Chari with Mahakavi Bharathiyar’s poem as lyrics, is out from the album. Cinematographer M V Paneer Selvam has been behind the lens for the entertainer. 

Editor Bhoopathy Vedhagiri has been contracted to edit the venture. Art director Soolai Anbu has erected sets for the flick. Stunt director Action Noor has choreographed action moves for the entertainer. Lakshmikanthan Kolai Vazhakku is produced by K V Shabarreesh under the production house 2M Cinemas, along with Dayal Padmanabhan for the production label D Pictures. 

On the professional side, actor Vetri is expecting consecutive outings in Black Gold created by Dheeran Arunkumar in which he has associated with actress Priyalaya, 4 Windows filmed by Narendran Murthy in which he has featured with actor Sathyaraj, and Iravu helmed by Jagadeesan Subu in which he has romanced actress Shivani Narayanan. The Aalan actor is now engaged in his next movie Lockdown Nights scripted by Stanley in which he will be performing alongside actress Hamsni Perumal, Theenkirai directed by Prakash Raghavadass in which he will be partnering with actor Srikanth, and Eerappadham Kaattru Mazhai crafted by R Saleem in which he will be costarring with actress Deepthie Orintelu. 

On the other hand, actress Brigida Saga is awaiting the release of Sathyavin Savithri filmed by Praveen S Vijaay in which she has worked with actors Keerthy Suresh, Shilpa Manjunath, & Mysskin, and Gandhari helmed by R Kannan in which she has joined forces with actress Hansika Motwani. The Maargan actress is presently busy with her untitled film scripted by K Balaiya in which she will be sharing screen space with actors Suresh Ravi & Yogi Babu, Sullan Sethu created by Muthaiah in which she will be seen alongside actor Vijay Muthaiah, and a Telugu venture Cheen Tapak Dum Dum crafted Y N Lohit in which she will be teaming up with actor Srinivas Gavireddy.
