Actor Vetri last graced the silver screen in the action thriller movie Muthal Pakkam helmed by Anish Ashraf with actress Shilpa Manjunath in the female lead role. The Memories actor is now eagerly awaiting the release of his upcoming investigative crime thriller drama Lakshmikanthan Kolai Vazhakku. Director Dayal Padmanabhan, who previously helmed projects like Kondraal Paavam and Maruthi Nagar Police Station, has directed the flick. He has co-written the story of the drama with writer Kavitha Bharathi.
Actress Brigida Saga of Kozhipannai Chelladurai fame will be seen in the female lead role in the entertainer. The production house is currently making moves to freeze a date in the month of July to release the venture. An official date for the release of the film is expected to be announced soon. Meanwhile, they have begun to promote the flick. As part of it, they have unveiled the first single from the album on social media.

Singers Vijay Prakash and Pavithra Chari have lent their voice for the number. The team has worked with one of Mahakavi Bharathiyar’s poems as lyrics. The number is mixed and mastered by Balu Thankachan. Aravind K Sridharan has designed the lyrics video. Music director Darbuka Siva has worked on the musical division of the movie. Lakshmikanthan Kolai Vazhakku is inspired by true events that took place in 1944 involving the stabbing of cinema reporter Lakshmikanthan which led to the arrest of then superstars M K Thyagaraja Bhagavathar and N S Krishnan.
Apart from Vetri and Brigida Saga, the casting team of Lakshmikanthan Kolai Vazhakku also has actors Ilavarasu, Lizzi Antony, Saravanan, Subramaniam Shiva, Kavitha Bharathi, Lollu Sabha Maaran, Kanya Bharathi, Logan Kannan, Narmadha, Aruvi Madhan, Veerapandiyan Suba, and Rangaraj Pandey in various supporting roles. Cinematographer M V Paneer Selvam has taken care of the cinematography department of the flick.
Editor Bhoopathy Vedhagiri has been brought on board to bring coherence to the film. Art director Soolai Anbu has designed the background for the entertainer. Stunt master Action Noor has engineered action moves for the flick. Lakshmikanthan Kolai Vazhakku is backed by K V Shabarreesh under the production label 2M Cinemas, in affiliation with Dayal Padmanabhan under the production banner D Pictures.
