Actor Sarathkumar had his last outing in the action drama Kombuseevi which hit theaters under the direction of story teller Ponram with actors Shanmuga Pandian and Tharnika in the lead roles. The 3 BHK actor is getting ready for the release of his next action movie christened Aazhi. Malayalam director Madhav Ramadasan will be making his debut in Tamil cinema with the entertainer.
Actors Indrajith Jagajith and Devika Satheesh have depicted pivotal supporting characters in the venture. The production team has already announced that the flick will be released in theaters on 27th of February. They have now released the teaser of the movie on social media.
Taking to his official X profile, actor Sarathkumar himself unveiled the teaser of Aazhi and captioned it, “The wait is over! The Aazhi Teaser is OUT NOW. Watch here Aazhi. Aazhi Teaser Out Now. One minute teaser of Aazhi begins with a bird’s eye view shot of a seashore. With a serious background score, it presents montage shots of a beer bottle being opened, ice cubes dropped in to a glass, and a dog barking in a boat. Following which, we see actor Sarathkumar with shaggy hair and beard steering a boat. The shot cuts to the actor beating individuals to a pulp.
In a scene we witness him fuming, “Mother, Sister, father . . . if they are innocent. Then what about my daughter?” Subsequently, we are presented with jump cuts of the star brutally slaying few people. In a shot we see coast guards inspecting his boat. Aazhi is touted to be a revenge story that revolves around a father who avenges the death of his daughter by viciously killing those responsible for it.
Apart from Sarathkumar, Indrajith Jagajith, and Devika Satheesh, the casting crew of the entertainer also has actors Thamaraiselvi, Sreejith Revi, Vaiyapuri, Birla Bose, Sarjin, Binish Babu, Teena Bhatia, Biju Mavunkal Varghese, and Mythili Sathyaraj essaying various supporting roles.
Music director Jassie Gift has been roped in to compose music for songs. While musician William Francis will be scoring background music for the drama Oscar recipient Resul Pookutty is the sound designer of the film.
Cinematographer Anand N Nair has been behind camera for the flick. Editor K Sreenivas has been hired to work in the editing department of the entertainer. Art director Pradeep M V has engineered sets for the flick. Stunt director Phonenix Prabhu has choreographed action moves for the venture.
The movie is produced by Sajit Krishnan under the production company 888 Production in affiliation with K Ravi for the production label Celluloid Creations. S Hari Uthraa has bagged the Tamil Nadu theatrical rights and will be releasing the movie under his home banner Uthraa Productions.
On the work side, actor Sarathkumar is eagerly expecting the release of Adangathey scripted by Shanmugam Muthusamy in which he has collaborated with actors G V Prakash Kumar & Surbhi, and Criminal directed by Dhakshina Moorthy Ramar in which he has costarred with actors Gautham Ram Karthik & Janani Iyer. The Nesippaya actor is currently working on his future entertainer Pirandhal Parasakthi crafted by Om Vijay in which he will be performing alongside actresses Varalaxmi Sarathkumar & Radhika Sarathkumar, Pamban helmed by A Venkatesh in which he will be partnering with actress Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, and Samaran filmed by Thirumalai Baluchamy in which he will be seen alongside actors Vidharth & Suhasini.
