Actor Santhanam had his last outing in the satirical comedy horror drama Devil’s Double Next Level crafted by S Prem Anand with actress Geethika Tiwary as female lead. The Inga Naan Thaan Kingu actor is now busy shooting for his next zombie comedy film titled Love Bite. Director Selvin Raj Xavier, who garnered the attention of audiences with his work Conjuring Kannappan, will be crafting the movie. He has co-written the film with writer Shyam Mura.
Actress Aparna Das of Dada fame will be seen in the female lead role in the drama. The project recently went on floors with a small pooja ceremony. The production house has scheduled to wrap the shoot for the venture by the end of September. Meanwhile, they have now dropped a promo clip from the movie on social media.
Taking to her official X account, producer Archana Kalpathi herself unveiled the promo of Love Bite and wrote, “Super excited to present Love Bite Promo. Sydney Sweeney Payaluga . . . Five minutes of odd promo of Love Bite opens to a crowd gathered at night. Then we have the voiceover of actor Motta Rajendran, “Hi guys . . . Wondering why everyone is so eerily silent, right?” The crowd signals him to be quiet. He says, “Oh . . . even voice-overs are not allowed?” The shot cuts to priests offering prayers, “Oh God . . . nothing should go wrong with the ritual tonight!”
We have the intro of actor Santhanam who walks into the frame with his back to the screen wearing a t-shirt with the words, ‘Sydney Sweeney Payaluga.’ Actor Anandraj walks in humming. Actor Santhanam asks him, “What are you doing, Dumey?” He responds, “Giving an entry BGM for me.” He hurls a one-liner, “At the age of taking your grandchildren to MGM, why do you need an entry BGM? Can we get down to business?”
Looking at the priest, actor Santhanam remarks, “Is not he one of those outside, a newly built house, picking coins after breaking the pumpkin?” Pointing to a woman in the crowd, actor Santhanam says, “Dumey! See that girl? She is collaborating with her eyes!” He replies, “Oh yeah, man. There is hunger in her eyes.” The priests bury a group of individuals who seem to be infected by some kind of virus alive in the ritual.
After the crowd disperses both Santhanam and Anandraj return to the spot to steal the jewelry from the buried. Anandraj acts funny and Santhanam quips, “Why are you acting like a Dhurandhar spy? There is no one watching you, act normal now!”
Before digging the grave open Santhanam tells Anandraj, “Dumey, I am thinking . . . they buried them, after some rituals! If we dig for that jewelry we might be in trouble.” To which he responds, “I asked the same to the AI on my phone, and it listed a few steps to be taken. Let us do that and leave with all the loot!”
Besides Santhanam and Aparna Das, casting unit of Love Bite also has actors Nirosha, Motta Rajendran, Vettai Muthukumar, VTV Ganesh, Kalki Raja, Redin Kingsley, Adithya Kathir, Anandraj, and Bjorn Surrao portraying various supporting characters. Music director Foxn has been hired to compose music for the entertainer. Cinematographer S Yuva will be shouldering the camera for the drama.
Editor Pradeep E Ragav has been trusted with the editing division of the movie. Art director V Sasi Kumar is fashioning sets for the drama. Stunt master R Sakthi Saravanan is designing action blocks for the flick. Love Bite is backed by Kalpathi S Ganesh, Kalpathi S Aghoram, and Kalpathi S Suresh under the production company AGS Entertainment.
On the professional front, actor Santhanam is presently busy with his next movie tentatively christened STR 49 directed by Ramkumar in which he will be partnering with actors Silambarasan & Kayadu Lohar, and Jailer 2 filmed by Nelson Dilipkumar in which he will be teaming up with actors Rajinikanth & Vijay Sethupathi. Apart from these films, the Kick actor has a couple of his long-delayed flicks Server Sundaram helmed by Anand Balki in which he has costarred with actress Vaibhavi Shandilya, and Mapillai Vinayagar scripted by Sriram Padhmanaban in which he has starred alongside actors Bhagyaraj & Jeeva, in the trunk waiting to see the light of day.
