Actor Rio Raj was last seen on screens in the romantic comedy movie Aan Paavam Pollathathu scripted by director Kalaiarasan Thangavel with actress Malavika Manoj in the female lead role. The Niram Marum Ulagil actor is set to make his debut as a producer in Kollywood via Brown Mani. Popular YouTuber Ram Nishanth, who played the lead in miniseries Kadhal Kottai and the flick Baba Black Sheep, has played the lead role. Actor JS Kavi, who has starred in Soodhu Kavvum 2: Naatum Naatu Makkalum, will be seen as the second lead in the film.
Newbie story teller Kathiravan Sampath has directed the movie. The story conceptualization has been accredited to Rio Raj and his team. Brown Mani has been shot across various regions in southern Tamil Nadu. The shoot for the entertainer has been wrapped and is currently in the post production stage. The makers are planning to bring the film to theaters in the month of August. Meanwhile, they have now dropped the title announcement video and first look poster of the movie on social media.
Taking to his official X handle, actor Rio Raj himself dropped a link to the title announcement video of Brown Mani and worded, “Every story has a name, Brown Mani is ours. Revealing the title of our first production with our Lazy but Pro Active crew. Get ready for a fun chase! First look today at 5pm. Two minutes of odd title announcement video opens to an aerial shot and zooms in to capture the happenings on the shooting spot. Everyone in the shooting spot seems to be doing everything except shooting for the project. Actor Rio Raj keeps observing them. An old man approaches him and asks, “Is it a shooting spot?” After positive affirmation the old man asks him, “Who is the hero?” He responds, “Ram Nishanth.”
The old man queries him, “Who is he?” A disappointed Rio Raj informs him, “YouTuber.” The old man quips, “Oh . . . Are they making reels then?” Rio Raj explains, “No. This is content creation acting . . .” The old man interrupts, “It will be available on the phone, right?” He acknowledges. The old man immediately replies, “Then it is reels.” The video ends on a funny note where the old man enquires who the producer is, and upon being told, reveals he doesn’t know Rio Raj.
The first look poster of the movie has actors Ram Nishanth and JS Kavi seated on a clunker two-wheeler. Brown Mani is touted to be a fun filled family drama that revolves around two friends and their quirky behavior. Apart from Ram Nishanth and JS Kavi, the casting crew of Brown Mani also has actors Kathiravan, Dawood, Sundar CVC, Jacob, and Shakthi in various supporting roles.
Music composer Dev Prakash Regan has been brought on board to handle musical gears for the venture. Cinematographer Sakthi Subramanian has taken care of the cinematography division of the flick. Editor Sundar S has been bestowed with the responsibility to chop and patch the entertainer.
Art director Abr has engineered sets for the film. Stunt director Sugan has choreographed action blocks for the drama. Brown Mani is produced by Rio Raj himself under the production company River Route Studios in affiliation with Ramesh along with Kavinn under the production label Red Rock Pictures.
On the work side, actor Rio Raj is simultaneously shooting for couple of his future projects Ram In Leela helmed by story teller Ramachandrran Kannan in which he will be sharing screen space with actresses Vartika Jain and Nayana Elza, and Maddy crafted by director Karthikeyan BK in which he will be seen alongside actors Aju Varghese and Saniya Iyappan.
