Prabhudeva’s Moonwalk To Have A Festive Release!
Actor Prabhudeva lastly had a release in Bollywood via Badass Ravi Kumar directed by Keith Gomes with actors Himesh Reshammiya and Simona J in the lead roles. The Theal actor will soon return to Kollywood with the release of his upcoming family comedy drama Moonwalk. Manoj Nirmala Sreedharan, the architect of popular YouTube media Behindwoods, has tried his hand at directing with this film. He has also been credited with the story.
Malayalam actor Aju Varghese has played a prominent role in the movie. Actor Yogi Babu is said to have essayed a humorous villain role in the drama. The film was originally scheduled to release in May. But it got pushed indefinitely. We now have news that the entertainer will be a festive release for this year’s Diwali. The production house themselves has announced the news on social media.

Prabhudeva stars as a vibrant young dance choreographer named Babootty in the venture. A R Rahman has played the role of a young angry film director. Yogi Babu will be seen in a negative shade as Dubai Mathew. A R Rahman and Prabhudeva have teamed up for a project after two decades. The duo has regaled audiences with sensational albums in Kaadhalan, Love Birds, Minsara Kanavu, Mr. Romeo, and Gentleman.
Interestingly, A R Rahman has crooned all songs in the album. Each song is built around a theme. Yethu – A celebration of happiness, Mayile – A celebration of hard work, Macarena – A celebration of friendship, Tinga – A celebration of love, and Jiger – A celebration of life. Lyricists Arivu, Sathyan, Vivek, Vishnu Edavan, and Vignesh have penned lyrics for the songs.
Earlier, speaking about why he lent his voice to all the tracks on the album, A R Rahman revealed, “I did what was asked of me. The director was very passionate about the plot. Hence, I agreed to his demand.” Director Manoj Nirmala Sreedharan said, “I made this film for Rahman sir. Would anyone like it if we made someone else dance instead of Prabhudeva when he is in the film? Similarly, I requested him to sing all the numbers.”
The star cast of Moonwalk also includes actors Mottai Rajendran, Redin Kingsley, Dr. Santhosh Jacob, KPY Ramar, Arjun Ashokan, Nishma Chengappa, Deepa Shankar, Satz, Ramkumar Natarajan, TRS Srinivasan, Sushmitha Nayak, and Lollu Sabha Swaminathan. Cinematographer Anoop V Shylaja has overseen the visuals and camera division for the drama.
Editor Raymond Derrick Crasta has been trusted with the editing division of the movie. Art director T Ramalingam has built sets for the drama. Action master Stunner Sam has engineered action blocks in the film. Moonwalk is produced by Manoj Nirmala Sreedharan along with Divya Manoj, and Praveen Elak under the production studio Behindwoods.
On the work front, actor Prabhudeva has three projects lined up for release in Bang Bang scripted by Sam Rodrigues in which he has joined forces with actor Vadivel, Wolf created by Vinu Venkatesh in which he has starred with actresses Anasuya Bharadwaj, Anju Kurian, & Raai Laxmi, and a Malayalam movie Kathanar – The Wild Sorcerer filmed by Rojin Thomas in which he has appeared alongside actors Jayasurya & Anushka Shetty.
The Petta Rap actor is presently engrossed in his future drama Singanallur Signal directed by J M Raja Saravanan in which he will be working with actress Bhavya Trikha, Musasi scripted by Sam Rodrigues in which he will be featuring with actress Leona Lishoy, Rekla helmed by Anbarasan in which he will be collaborating with actress Vani Bhojan, and a Hindi film Maharagni: Queen of Queens created by Charan Tej Uppalapati in which he will be associating with actress Kajol.
