Multi-talented Prabhu Deva who entered Tamil cinema as a dance choreographer, turned actor, and then went on to shine as a director as well. The Pokiri director was last seen on screens in the lead hero avatar in Poikkal Kuthirai which hit the screens under the direction of Santhosh P Jayakumar with actress Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, and Raiza Wilson in vital supporting parts. The entertainer opened to negative reviews. As a result, it left the theaters unnoticed. The actor has put that behind him, and is now gearing up for the release of his next flick titled Bagheera. The entertainer is penned and directed by storyteller Adhik Ravichandran of Trisha Illana Nayanthara fame. The project which went on floors with a small pooja ceremony a while back, was wrapped a long time ago. The entertainer was supposed to hit the theaters last year. For reasons best known to the makers, it did not. But finally, the project is now done and dusted ready for release.
Now, the production house has announced the release date of Bagheera on social media. Bagheera is all set to hit the screens on 3rd of march this year. Director Adhik Ravichandran himself has shared the release date. Taking to his official twitter handle, the film maker shared a poster from the flick, and wrote, “Bagheera from march 3rd. Unleashing the devil ‘Bagheera Muralidharan’ as Prabhu Deva master. Thank you all for holding us for these years. R V Bharathan sir & my whole team. Bagheera is touted to be a psychological thriller. The trailer of the movie was released by the production unit last year which has had a good reception among the audience, and has clocked millions of views till date. Actor Prabhu Deva is said to have played several roles including a female character in the movie. Apart from actor Prabhu Deva, Bagheera has actresses Amyra Dastur, Gayathrie Shankar, Sanchita Shetty, Ramya Nambeeshan, and Sakshi Agarwal essaying female lead roles. The casting department of the drama also includes actors Gopinath Ravi, Sai Kumar, Nassar, Pragathi, Sonia Agarwal, Janani, Sri Murali, and Akilan Pushparaj portraying various other supporting parts.
Music director Ganesh Sekar has handled the musician division of the movie. Already a number ‘Psycho Raja’ has been unveiled by the team which has found its way into the playlist of teens in the state. Cinematographers Selva Balraj, Abinandhan Ramanujam, and S. K. Selva Kumar has done cinematography for the flick. Editor Antony L Ruben has edited the drama. Stunt duo Anbariv have choreographed action sequences for the flick. The project is produced by R. V. Bharathan along with S. V. R. Ravi Shankar under the production company Bharathan Pictures.
On the work front, actor Prabhu Deva who had his last outing in the likes of the action thriller flick Poikkal Kuthirai is currently busy shooting for his next project title Musasi under the direction of story teller Sam Rodrigues in which he will be collaborating with actor Master Mahendran, Rekla crafted by director Anbu in which he will be seen alongside actress Vani Bhojan, for Oomai Vizhigal helmed by film maker V. S. in which he will be sharing screen space with actress Mamta Mohandas, for Flash Back scripted by director Don Sandy in which he will be co starring with actresses Regina Cassandra and Anasuya Bharadwaj, and for his Kannada projects Karataka Damanaka filmed by Yogaraj Bhat in which he will be associating with actor Shivarajkumar, and Lucky Man. Apart from these ventures, the actor has Wolf crafted by Vinoo Venkatesh in which he has romanced actresses Anju Kurian and Lakshmi Rai, and his long-delayed movie Yung Mung Sung scripted by storyteller M. S. Arjun in the post production stage waiting to see the light of day.
