Actor Sivakarthikeyan lastly entertained audiences in director Rajkumar Periasamy’s Amaran alongside actress Sai Pallavi. The Hero star is now getting ready for the release of his next action thriller Madharaasi. It is titled as Dil Madharasi in Hindi. Director A R Murugadoss is set to come back to Kollywood after a gap of five years. Kannada actress Rukmini Vasanth of Ace fame has portrayed the female lead part in the drama.
Bollywood actor Vidyut Jammwal of Thuppakki fame has played a baddie in the flick. Shoot for Madharaasi took place in multiple locations across Chennai, Thoothukudi, Pondicherry, and Sri Lanka. The film is poised to release in theaters worldwide on 5th of September in languages Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi. The production house has already begun to promote the venture. As part of it, they had launched a glimpse video, and a couple of songs from the flick. They have now released the trailer of the entertainer on social media.
Taking to their official X handle, the team of Sri Lakshmi Movies shared a special poster along with links to the trailer of Madharaasi in multiple languages and wrote, “Brace yourself for the EMOTIONAL RIDE & the ACTION EXPLOSION. The two minute trailer of Madharaasi starts with a voiceover, “Love others just like how you love yourself. Think of everyone as your family. This is what every religion and God tells us.” Then we have the intro of actor Sivakarthikeyan who walks across a convoy of sedans. We then have montages of romantic moments between the lead pair.
The shot cuts to a fleet of trucks moving, and actor Biju Menon as a cop instructing his team, “Six cargo trucks full of locally made illegal guns are on its way to Tamil Nadu. We must stop it at the state border.” Following which we have a series of bomb blasts. Subsequently, a doctor describes actor Sivakarthikeyan, “There is nothing wrong with his body. It is his brain. If he sets his mind on something, he would go to any extreme to get it done.”
The cast of Madharaasi also includes actors Biju Menon, Vikranth, Monisha Vijay, Shabeer Kallarakkal, Rishi Rithvik, Prem Kumar, Thalaivasal Vijay, Sachana Namidass, Santhana Bharathi, Sanjay, and Yaseetharan Ratnakumar. Music director Anirudh Ravichander has composed music for the entertainer. Already two singles ‘Salambala’ and ‘Vazhiyiraen’ are out from the album. Madharaasi is his eight affiliation with actor Sivakarthikeyan following their success in Ethir Neechal, Maan Karate, Kaaki Sattai, Remo, Velaikkaran, Doctor, and don.
Cinematographer Sudeep Elamon has been behind the lens for the drama. Editor A Sreekar Prasad has been engaged to edit the movie. Art director Shanmugaraja has engineered sets for the entertainer. Stunt director Kevin Kumar has designed action moves for the flick. Madharaasi is bankrolled by N Srilakshmi Prasad under the production company Sri Lakshmi Movies. The film is made with a whooping 200 crore budget. The television rights of the flick, has been acquired by Zee Tamil, and the digital rights is secured by Amazon Prime Video OTT platform.
On the work side, actor Sivakarthikeyan is presently occupied in his next political period drama Parasakthi helmed by Sudha Kongara in which he will be seen alongside actors Jayam Ravi, Atharvaa, & Sreeleela, Ayalaan 2 crafted by director R Ravikumar, and a movie tentatively christened SK 26 which is filmed by Vinayak Chandrasekaran of Good Night fame.
On the other hand, actress Rukmini Vasanth is currently working on a couple of Kannada projects Kantara: Chapter 1 helmed and headlined by Rishab Shetty, Toxic: A fairy Tale For Grown Ups crafted by Geethu Mohandas in which she will be partnering with actors Yash, Nayanthara, & Kiara Advani, and a Telugu film Dragon scripted by Prashanth Neel of KGF fame in which she will be romancing actor Jr NTR.
