Actor K Manikandan made his debut in Tamil cinema through an uncredited role in Pizza II: Villa. Following which he did a bunch of supporting parts in India Pakistan, Indru Netru Naalai, Kadhalum Kadandhu Pogum, and 8 Thottakkal. Unfortunately, none gave him a breakthrough. It was his role in Vijay Sethupathi’s Vikram Vedha that shed the spotlight on him. The actor was last seen on screens in the hyperlink drama Sila Nerangalil Sila Manidhargal which hit the screens under the direction of story teller Vishal Venkat with actor Ashok Selvan in the lead. The entertainer opened to mixed reviews from both critics and audience. As a result, it could not draw much footfalls to the theaters. But the actor has now put that behind him, and is gearing up for the release of his next project titled Good Night. Debutant film maker Vinayak Chandrasekaran has written and directed the entertainer. The venture which went on floors last year with a small pooja ceremony is now wrapped, and is in the post production stage getting shaped for release.
Now, the production house has shared the first look poster of the drama on social media. Director Pa Ranjith has shared the poster. Taking to his official twitter account, the director dropped the first look poster of Good Night, and wrote, “Here is the first look poster of Good Night starring Manikandan. Congratulations and keep rocking. Wishing the team great success! Directed by Vinayak Chandrasekaran. A Sean Roldan musical!” Here is the tweet made by the story teller.

In the first look poster, the actor is seen dozing in a sitting position with his hand supporting the head. We could see a book titled ‘How to stop snoring’ on the table. In the background are multiple characters from the film expressing discomfort to the actor snoring. Speaking to a leading daily about Good Night, director Vinayak Chandrasekaran said, “Good Night is set in the backdrop of Chennai. Snoring is the core theme of the drama. What are the consequences of snoring, the type of issues snoring leads to in a relationship, and how a snorer overcomes snoring. We have tried to present the element in a humorous way. But that is not just it, the film will talk about modern life, and how we as humans struggle to cope with it. A wide range of human emotions will be explored. We have tried our best to avoid comedy that offends the feelings of others. I am confident the audience will have an amazing experience watching it.”
Good Night is touted to be a romantic comedy. Newbie Vinayak Chandrasekaran is an erstwhile assistant of director Sam Anton. So, there is high expectation for his debut movie. It is said that the production house is in plans to bring the flick to the theaters for summer holidays this season. The teaser of the movie is expected to be launched soon.
Apart from actor K Manikandan, Good Night has actress Meetha Ragunath of Mudhal Nee Mudivum Nee fame essaying the female lead part. The casting department of the drama has actors Ramesh Thilak, Balaji Shakthivel, and Bagavathi Perumal in various other supporting roles. The musical division of the flick will be taken care of by music director Sean Roldan. Cinematographer Jayanth Sethu Mathavan has cranked the camera for the drama. Editor Bharath Vikraman has been bestowed with the responsibility to trim the movie. Art director Srikanth Gopal has designed the background for the drama. The entertainment is bankrolled by Nazerath Pasilian and Mahesh Raj Pasilian under the banner house Million Dollar Studios along with Yuvaraj Ganesan of production label MRP entertainment.
