Actor Vemal had a release earlier this month in Paramasivan Fathima crafted by director Esakki Karvannan with actress Chaya Devi Kannan in the female lead role. The Pogumidam Vegu Thooramillai actor had starred in the comedy drama Desingu Raja back in 2013 alongside actress Bindu Madhavi. The flick had a decent commercial success. After more than a decade we are set to have a sequel for the film. Desingu Raja 2 is said to be a standalone entertainer.
Story teller Ezhil, who managed the director’s cockpit in the first installment, has the reins in his hand for the second part as well. Actress Pujita Ponnada of Konjam Kadhal Konjam Modhal fame has been paired against actor Vemal in the movie. Bollywood actress Sneha Gupta will be seen shaking legs for an item number in the project. The production house has already announced that the movie will be released in theaters worldwide on 11th of July.
The production house has now shared the first lyrical video track ‘Pidaari Kovil Thoppu’ from the entertainer on social media. Taking to their official X account, the team of MRT Music dropped a clip along with a link to the lyrical video song ‘Pidaari Kovil Thoppu’ from Desingu Raja 2 and wrote, “The dance floor is calling! “Pidari Kovil Thoppu” is Streaming and trending! Turn up the volume and get into the Desingu Raja 2 vibe! Pidari Kovil Thoppu Desingu Raja 2. Vidyasagar Musical.” Here is the post made by the music label.
Music director Vidyasagar has handled musical gears for the project. He has also crooned the number along with singer Vrusha Balu. Lyricist Yugabharathi has penned lyrics for the track. The song has been mixed and mastered by Antony Karuna.
Nearly four minutes odd lyrical video song is set in a dynamic village fair backdrop with actor Vemal in a rugged costume dancing along with actress Pujita Ponnada. We have visuals of Vidyasagar and Vrusha Balu recording the song in the studio. We are also given a few behind the scene shots taken while shooting for the song.
Apart from Vemal, Pujita Ponnada, and Sneha Gupta, the casting team of Desingu Raja 2 also has actors Cook With Comali fame Pugazh, Ravi Mariya, Singampuli, Jana Nathan, Chaams, Jangiri Madhumitha, Vinoth, G Harshitha, Sumathi, and Swaminathan portraying various supporting roles. Cinematographer R Selva has been trusted with the cinematography department of the venture.
Editor K Ananda Lingakumar has been brought on board to bring coherence to the film. Art director V M Shivakumar has fashioned sets for the flick. Stuntman Karthik Varman has engineered action blocks for the project. Desingu Raja 2 is produced by P Ravichandran for his production company Infinity Creations.
On the professional front, actor Vemal is busy shooting for his future ventures Manjal Kudai helmed by director Sivam Rajamani in which he will be co starring with actress Shirin Kanchwala, and Belladonna directed by Santhosh Babu Muthusamy, Beside these flicks, the Evanukku Engeyo Matcham Irukku actor has a couple of his long-delayed movies in Sandakkari crafted by Madhesh in which he has partnered with actress Shriya Saran, Enga Pattan Sothu filmed by story teller Sargunam in which he has performed alongside actress Anicka Vikhraman, and Lucky scripted by Prasanth Pandiyaraj in the shelves awaiting release.
On the other hand, actress Pujita Ponnada will next be seen in Tamil in Bhagavan crafted by debutant director Kalingan in which she has romanced actor Aari Arjunan, and in Telugu cinema in an item number in the swashbuckler action movie Hari Hara Veera Mallu: Part 1 filmed by storyteller Krish Jagarlamudi in which she will be seen alongside actors Pawan Kalyan, Nidhhi Agerwal, Nargis Fakhri, and Bobby Deol.
