Vasanth Ravi’s Asvins Teaser: Looks Intriguing!

Actor Vasanth Ravi who ventured into Kollywood with the romantic movie Taramani was last seen on screens in the action crime drama Rocky which hit the theaters under the direction of film maker Arun Matheswaran with veteran director Bharathiraja in the antagonist role. The entertainer garnered critical acclamations from critics. Unfortunately, it did not reflect in the box office collection. The actor has now put that behind him, and is currently getting ready for the release of his Tamil Telugu bilingual venture christened Asvins. Actress Saras Menon, daughter of Rajiv Menon will be making her debut in Tamil cinema as female lead in the project. Debutant director Tarun Teja has helmed the flick. The entertainer has been shot in and around the surroundings of London.

Actor Vasanth Ravi recently celebrated his birthday. Taking to the special occasion the production unit has released the teaser of the drama on social media. Actor Vasanth Ravi himself has shared the teaser. Taking to his official twitter account, the actor dropped the teaser of Asvins, and thanked those who wished him on the special day, “Thank you to each and every one for ur wishes on my birthday, ur love and support is the biggest gift, I can ever ask for and will continue to give you the best in each and every film of mine! Watch out for Asvins teaser. Asvins coming soon to theatres.” Here is the tweet made by the actor.

One-minute teaser opens to actor Vasanth Ravi’s voiceover, “Within everybody there are two lives. Within everybody’s head there are two voices. Two minds. If we pass away in one world, we will be born in another. In that world, we fear both breathing and not breathing.” The teaser has gone viral, and has clocked over a million views till date. Earlier talking about the film to a leading daily, actor Vasanth Ravi said, “After Rocky I was looking for a script that would be a stark contrast to Rocky. Something like a breezy romance drama. I never contemplated doing a horror flick. I do not have much interest in the horror genre either. But when I was approached by Tarun Teja with the story. I was very impressed. I felt I might not get such a raw horror story again. It was well in line with my idea of a horror entertainer.” Sharing about his experience on shooting for the project, he stated, “Asvins is set in London. We shot in the freezing winter season. The temperature was hovering between -40C and -50 C.”

Briefly about his part, he stated, “I play a YouTuber who has his own crew. My character in the drama has minimal dialogues. I had to communicate extensively through expressions and gestures. Rocky was physically challenging, whereas Asvins was psychological demand.” Touted to be a psychological horror drama, Asvins is about a bunch of YouTubers who fall victim to an ancient curse that brings evil forces into the world. Director Tarun Teja first made a short film out of the script, and has now developed it into the feature movie format. There is news that the production team is eyeing to bring the venture to the theaters in the month of May.

Apart from actors Vasanth Ravi and Saraswathi Menon, the casting department of the flick has actors Vimala Raman, Muralidaran, Udhaya Deep, and Simran Pareek portraying various other supporting parts. Debutant music director Vijay Siddharth has been brought on board to compose music for the venture. Cinematographer A. K. Edwin Sakay has been behind the lens for the project. Editor Venkat Raajen has been bestowed with the responsibility to trim the movie. Art director Don Bala has erected sets for the drama. The project is funded by B. V. S. N. Prasad for the production company Sri Venkateswara Cine Chitra along with Praveen Daniel under the banner label Golden Arrow Studios.

On the work front, actor Vasanth Ravi who had his last outing in Rocky is currently busy shooting for his supporting part in Jailer under the direction of film maker Nelson Dilip Kumar in which he will be sharing screen space with actor Rajinikanth, and for Weapon crafted by storyteller Guhan Senniappan in which he will be seen alongside veteran actor Sathyaraj.
