Kathir’s Manjanathi With Mari Selvaraj Goes On The Floors!

Actor Kathir recently had a release via the Tamil Malayalam bilingual fantasy action film I’m Game helmed by Nahas Hidhayath with actors Dulquer Salmaan and Kayadu Lohar in the lead roles. The Sigai actor has inked his signature for his next project christened Manjanathi. Story teller Mari Selvaraj, who previously helmed actor Kathir in Pariyerum Perumal, is directing the movie. The story credit of the film is also attributed to him. 

Actress Kayadu Lohar of Dragon fame will be seen in the female lead role in the entertainer. Actress Priyanka Mohan of Captain Miller fame will be playing the second female lead in the drama. We now have news that the venture has gone into production with a small pooja ceremony in Theni. The production house themselves has announced the news on social media and dropped a short clip capturing special moments from the pooja ceremony. 

Taking to their official X handle, the production team of Navvi Studios dropped the pooja ceremony video of Manjanathi and captioned it, “The Beginning of Manjanathi From Mari Selvaraj x Ilaiyaraaja. Navvi Studios, Divya Mari Selvaraj, Skanda Pictures, Ezhil Arasu K, Ramu Thangaraj, Selva R K, Kathir, Priyanka Mohan, Kayadu Lohar, Sandy, Think Music India, Vidhu, Poornima Ravi, Valentino Suren, Hari, Sivam C Kabilan, Linq, AIM Pro, Manjanathi, Mari Selvaraj, Ilaiyaraaja.” Here is the post made by the production house. 

Two minutes odd pooja ceremony video of Manjanathi begins with a wide shot of a mountain and shifts to an aerial, bird’s eye view of a green field. It then shows the ambience of the pooja event as the crew arrives for the function. Musician Ilaiyaraaja is warmly welcomed and escorted to the event by Mari Selvaraj, surrounded by artists playing traditional auspicious music. 

Speaking at the event, Ilaiyaraaja said, “Mari Selvaraj told me a story, but it is not just a story – it is a true, real-life incident, which means it is history. Manjanathi is the title of the story. I hope and pray to God that this movie will be a success, and that everyone involved in the project will achieve fame and glory.” The video ends with him snapping the clapperboard for the first shot of the flick. 

Apart from Kathir, Kayadu Lohar, and Priyanka Mohan, the casting unit of the movie also has actors Poornima Ravi, Sandy Master, Vidhu, J Vignesh, Ragavi, and Rakul in various supporting characters. Music composer Ilaiyaraaja has been roped in to score music for the flick. Cinematographer Ezhil Arasu K is taking care of the cinematography department of the venture. 

Editor Selva R K has been bestowed with the responsibility to bring coherence to the drama. Art director Ramu Thangaraj is designing the background for the film. Stunt director Dhilip Subbarayan is choreographing action moves in the project. The entertainer is backed by Mari Selvaraj himself along with his wife Divya Mari Selvaraj under their home banner Navvi Studios, in affiliation with Sushant Prasad for the production label Skanda Pictures. 

On the work front, actor Kathir will soon have successive releases in Demonte Colony 3 crafted by Ajay Gnanamuthu in which he has shared screen space with actors Arulnithi & Priya Bhavani Shankar, and Maanavan filmed by S L S Henry in which he has teamed up with actors Yuvalakshmi & Mahendran. On the other hand, actress Priyanka Mohan is currently busy with her future project Arasan helmed by Vetrimaran in which she will be starring with actors Silambarasan & Vijay Sethupathi, a couple of films provisionally titled Kavin 09 scripted by Ken Royson in which she will be joining forces with actor Kavin Raj, and ASG 29 created by Anandan M S in which she will be romancing actor Jai. 

Actress Kayadu Lohar is awaiting the release of her next Telugu film The Paradise crafted by Srikanth Odela in which she has collaborated with actor Nani. The Idhayam Murali actress is presently working on her future Tamil project tentatively titled Suriya 48 directed by T J Gnanavel in which she will be seen alongside actor Suriya, and a Malayalam movie Thaaram filmed by Vinay Govind in which she will be featuring alongside actors Nivin Pauly & Nikhila Vimal.
