Actor Kathir had his last outing in the digital space via the second season of Suzhal: The Vortex helmed by story tellers Bramma G & Sarjun K M with actress Aishwarya Rajesh in the female lead role. The Pariyerum Perumal actor who has not had a theatrical release in nearly three years will soon have one in the upcoming romantic thriller drama christened Aasai. Director Shiv Mohaa, who garnered the attention of audience right away in his debut film Zero, has inked and crafted the entertainer.
Actress Divya Bharati of Bachelor fame has been paired with the actor for the first time in her career. The project which went on floors in 2023 has been in the making for a long time. Finally, we now have news that the entertainer will be releasing in theaters worldwide on 6th of March this year. The production house themselves has publicized the news on social media.
Taking to their official X handle, the production team of Passion Studios dropped a special poster from the drama and captioned it, “A love story wrapped in suspense . . . Aasai releasing in theatres on March 6th. The special poster shared by the team has a front view closeup shot of actor Kathir’s face who is seen wearing crazed eyeglasses, overlayed by the side view face of actress Divya Bharati with her hand on Kathir’s shoulder. Interestingly, Aasai is the title of the 1995 romantic thriller headlined by Ajith Kumar and Suvalakshmi under Vasanth’s direction. Like its predecessor, even this film is touted to explore themes like desire and obsession in a romantic relationship.
Apart from Kathir and Divya Bharati, the star cast of the flick also has actors Linga, Poorna, Alexandersamy, Sujatha Sivakumar, Archana, Arul Doss, Namo Narayanan, and Muruganatham essaying various supporting parts. Music composer Revaa of Ayali fame has been brought on board to work on the musical department of the drama. Already a single titled ‘Kaadhal Kannadi’ in the lyrics of Viveka sung by Kapil Kapilam & Srinisha Jayaseelan is out from the album.
Cinematographer I E Babu Kumar has overseen the cinematography division of the entertainer. Editor R Sudharsan has been bestowed with the responsibility to trim the flick. Art director S Raja Mohan has engineered sets for the film. Stunt director Pradeep Dinesh has fashioned action blocks for the movie. The flick is produced by Sudhan Sundaram and G Jayaram in affiliation with Ramesh P Pillai under the production house Eagle’s Eye Entertainment.
On the professional front, actor Kathir is currently busy shooting for his future Malayalam venture I’m Game scripted by story teller Nahas Hidhayath in which he will be featuring alongside actors Dulquer Salmaan, Kayadu Lohar, & Mysskin, Maanavan directed by S L S Henry in which he will be partnering with actors Yuvalakshmi, Anbudasan, & Mahendran, and a web series titled Lingam filmed by Prasanth Pandiyaraj in which he will be collaborating with actresses Divya Bharati and Poornima Ravi.
On the other hand, actress Divya Bharati will next be seen on screens in Madhil Mel Kaadhal crafted by director Anjana Ali Khan in which she has costarred with actors Mugen Rao and Sakshi Agarwal. The Kingston actress is now engaged in her maiden Telugu film G. O. A. T helmed by story teller Phani Krishna in which she will be joining forces with actors Sudigali Sudheer and Nithin Prasanna.
