The nearly two minutes long teaser of Karuppu begins with a voiceover, “It is not the calm deity that you worship with grace. If you pray with sincerity and apply chilli to it. It is a fierce deity that will deliver instant justice.” We have the intro of actor Suriya covered from different angles. He then introduces himself, “My name is Saravanan. I go by an alias, too.” Following which we see him thrash a few henchmen and dance around in his village.
In a shot he throws a punch, “My dear brother! This is my time. I am going to whack each one of you!” In between an action sequence he tells someone, “Hey, kiddo, this looks fantastic!” The teaser ends with him saying to a fellow he beat up, “Baby, daddy is home.”
Apart from Suriya and Trisha Krishnan, the casting crew of Karuppu also comprises actors Sshivada, Swasika, Natty Subramaniam, Yogi Babu, Indrans, Supreeth Reddy, and Anagha Maaya Ravi. Initially, Oscar recipient A R Rahman was brought on board to compose music for the drama. Unfortunately, for reasons best known to the production unit he pulled out of the project.
