Karthi’s Sardar 2 Trailer: Hints At A High-Stakes Spy Thriller Packed With Action!
Actor Karthi was last seen on screens in the action-comedy movie Vaa Vaathiyaar directed by Nalan Kumarasamy with actress Krithi Shetty in the female lead role. The Alex Pandian actor is now looking forward to the release of his next spy action thriller drama Sardar 2. Director P S Mithran, who crafted the first part, has also helmed the second edition. Writers Rathna Kumar, Aashameera Aiyappan, and Vignesh Muniyandi have been credited with the story. Screenwriter Nambi has assisted in molding the screenplay of the film.
Actresses Malavika Mohanan of Master fame, and Ashika Ranganath of Pattathu Arasan fame will be seen in the female lead roles in the flick. The entertainer was shot in multiple zones in Chennai, Madurai, Kochi, Hyderabad, Bangkok, and Luton. Sardar 2 is all set to release in cinemas worldwide on 10th of September. The production house has been promoting the film by dropping a teaser and a single from the movie. They have now shared the trailer of the drama on social media.
Taking to their official X timeline, the team of Sony Music South India launched a special poster along with a link to the trailer of Sardar 2 and worded, “Sardar 2 Trailer is here. The three minute trailer of Sardar 2 opens with a woman informing someone via a call, “The nation is in danger. We need to make a decision.” The person on the other side replies, “Block Ops! We need an agent.” The shot shifts to a character badgering a woman, “By the time that busker arrives, the season will be over. Ask him to come!” She responds, “Uncle, Bose has picked up the Lord’s spear. Now, Bose is the guardian angel guiding the other devotees.”
We then have the intro of actor Karthi dancing with a spear in his hand. He then informs his mother, “Mom, I got a booking from Madras to conduct a play.” Following which an officer says, “He is the only agent who could speak Japanese.” Subsequently, actress Malavika Mohanan wonders, “300 million lives are at stake. How are we going to accomplish this mission with a trainee?” Then someone declares, “Mission accomplished successfully!”
Actor Karthi disputes his claim, “I do not think so, Sir. I feel defeated.” Then Malavika Mohanan extols him, “Bose, you are the one who has saved all these lives. It is not possible without paying a price. You have to live with it.” He responds, “It is a curse, Madam. It will haunt me forever. It will not spare me until I die. I believe this will not happen again, Madam.”
The scene cuts to the intro of S J Suryah responding, “It will happen. Fantastic, outstanding, marvelous! It will happen again. Because this time it will be done by me.” The trailer ends with him telling Karthi, “Sardar, do you know I am your fan? I am waiting for you. Come, I will show you. What mayhem a fanboy could cause.”
The star-studded cast of Sardar 2 also includes actors S J Suryah, Yogi Babu, Nassar, Rajisha Vijayan, Babu Antony, Nizhalgal Ravi, Devadarshini, Achyuth Kumar, Ashish Vidhyarthi, Chinni Jayanth, and Jean Paul Lal. Music director Sam C S has been trusted with the musical division of the film. Already a single ‘Mayil Veera’ in the vocals of Singers ofRo, Vaaheesan Rasaiya, & Mukesh lyrics written by Kaadi and Vaaheesan Rasaiya, is out from the album.
Cinematographer George C Williams has headed the cinematography department of the drama. Editor Vijay Velukutty has been hired to bring coherence to the venture. Art directors MSP Madhavan and B Sekar have fashioned backgrounds for the entertainer. Action directors Dhilip Subbarayan and Chethan D’Souza have designed action moves in the flick. Sardar 2 is bankrolled by S Lakshman Kumar and Ishan Saksena under the production studio Prince Pictures, in affiliation with A Venkatesh for the production banner Ivy Entertainment.
On the work side, actor Karthi is presently engaged in his future drama Marshal scripted by Thamizh in which he will be sharing screen space with actress Kalyani Priyadarshan, two projects tentatively christened Karthi 30 directed by Kalyan Shankar in which he will be appearing alongside actress Meenakshi Chaudhary, Karthi 31 helmed by Mohan Raja, and a Telugu venture Hit: The Fourth Case filmed by Sailesh Kolanu.
On the other hand, actress Malavika Mohanan is now occupied in her next Tamil flick Pocket Novel crafted by Thiagarajan Kumararaja in which she will be romancing actor Vijay Sethupathi. Actress Ashika Ranganath is expecting her upcoming Telugu release Vishwambhara scripted by Mallidi Vasishta in which she has performed with actors Chiranjeevi & Trisha Krishnan.
