First Single ‘Mayil Veera’ From Karthi’s Sardar 2 Is A Devotional Number!

Actor Karthi lastly entertained audiences in the action-comedy entertainer Vaa Vaathiyaar filmed by Nalan Kumarasamy with actress Krithi Shetty in the female lead role. The Madras actor is now eagerly anticipating the release of his upcoming spy action thriller flick Sardar 2. Director P S Mithran, who was in the director’s cockpit for the first edition, has also directed the second part. Writers Rathna Kumar, Aashameera Aiyappan, and Vignesh Muniyandi have penned the script for the venture. Creator Nambi has helped structure the film’s screenplay. 

Actresses Malavika Mohanan of Master fame, and Ashika Ranganath of Pattathu Arasan fame have depicted the female lead roles in the movie. Filming for Sardar 2 happened in several places in Chennai, Madurai, Kochi, Hyderabad, Bangkok, and Luton. The entertainer is slated to release in theaters worldwide on 10th of September. The makers had recently released the teaser of the drama on social media. They have now shared the first single from the album. 

Taking to his official X handle, musician Sam C S himself unveiled a special poster along with a link to the first single ‘Mayil Veera’ from Sardar 2 and wrote, “It’s time to get Murugafied because Mayil Veeran has arrived. Singers ofRo, Vaaheesan Rasaiya, and Mukesh have crooned the number. Lyricist Kaadi and Vaaheesan Rasaiya have penned lyrics for the song. The track is mixed by T R Krishna Chetan and mastered by Suresh Permal. Dance master Sandy has choreographed dance moves for the song. Music director Sam C S has orchestrated the musical score for the venture. 

The trailer of Sardar 2, which was released earlier, features Karthi in a dual role as a father and son working as spies for the Indian government, and S J Suryah as a quirky villain scheming to cause chaos. The casting crew of Sardar 2 also has actors S J Suryah, Nassar, Yogi Babu, Rajisha Vijayan, Nizhalgal Ravi, Achyuth Kumar, Babu Antony, Ashish Vidhyarthi, Devadarshini, Chinni Jayanth, and Jean Paul Lal. Cinematographer George C Williams has cranked the camera for the movie. 

Editor Vijay Velukutty has been signed in to trim the flick. Art directors MSP Madhavan and B Sekar have engineered sets for the film. Action directors Dhilip Subbarayan and Chethan D’Souza have choreographed action blocks in the project. Sardar 2 is funded by S Lakshman Kumar and Ishan Saksena under the production label Prince Pictures, in partnership with A Venkatesh for the production studio Ivy Entertainment. 

On the work front, actor Karthi is currently busy shooting for his next entertainer Marshal crafted by Thamizh in which he will be romancing actress Kalyani Priyadarshan, a couple of movies provisionally christened Karthi 30 helmed by Kalyan Shankar in which he will be seen alongside actress Meenakshi Chaudhary, Karthi 31 created by Mohan Raja, and a Telugu drama Hit: The Fourth Case scripted by Sailesh Kolanu. 

On the other hand, actress Malavika Mohanan is presently absorbed in her upcoming Tamil film Pocket Novel directed by Thiagarajan Kumararaja in which she will be appearing alongside actor Vijay Sethupathi. Actress Ashika Ranganath is awaiting her next Telugu release Vishwambhara filmed by Mallidi Vasishta in which she has worked with actors Chiranjeevi & Trisha Krishnan.
