Actor Karthi had his last outing in the action-comedy film Vaa Vaathiyaar directed by Nalan Kumarasamy with actress Krithi Shetty in the female lead role. The Meiyazhagan actor is now gearing up for the release of his next spy action thriller movie Sardar 2. Director P S Mithran, who helmed the first installment of the drama, has also crafted the second part. Writers Rathna Kumar, Aashameera Aiyappan, and Vignesh Muniyandi have written the drama. Creator Nambi has helped shape the flow of the film. 

Actresses Malavika Mohanan of Master fame, and Ashika Ranganath of Pattathu Arasan fame have played the female lead roles in the project. The venture was shot in various locations in Chennai, Madurai, Kochi, Hyderabad, Bangkok, and Luton. Sardar 2 is poised to arrive in theaters worldwide on 10th of September. Meanwhile, the production house has begun to promote the entertainer. As part of it, they have now released the teaser of the flick on social media. 

Taking to his official X timeline, actor Karthi himself shared a link to the trailer of Sardar 2 and wrote, “Here it is SARDAR 2 Teaser. P S Mithran, S J Suryah, Ivy Entertainment, Sam C S, George C Williams, Vijay Velukutty, Rajeevan Nambiar, Prince Pictures, Venkatesh, B4U Motion Pictures, Rajisha Vijayan, Malavika Mohanan, Ashika Ranganath, Yogi Babu, Dhilip Subbarayan, Chethan D’Souza, Poornima Ramaswamy, Sony Music South India, Once A spy Always A spy, Sardar 2 from sep 10.” Here is the post made by the actor. 

The nearly two minute trailer of Sardar 2 begins with the voiceover of actor S J Suryah, “Silence! Silence! Silence is serenity! A quick challenge! I have got a riddle for you. If you can solve it. Two spies! A father and a son. Father is a country brute. But he is very strong. Also, he is a genius.” Then we see actor Karthi trying to kiss actress Malavika Mohanan. She asks him, “What are you doing?”

The voiceover continues, “Son is a cool guy. But a tough guy, though. They may be running this show. But I will be the show stealer. It is because I am their target. Technically, I am the good guy. They are the bad guys. My only question to you is, who is going to be the winner? Is it the good villain? Or the bad heroes?” Following which he asks actor Yogi Babu, “Do you know the answer?” He responds, “I do not know, Sir.” The teaser ends with actor S J Suryah mouthing, “Come, let us do salsa!” 

Apart from Karthi, Ashika Ranganath, and Malavika Mohanan, the star cast of Sardar 2 also has actors S J Suryah, Rajisha Vijayan, Yogi Babu, Nassar, Achyuth Kumar, Ashish Vidhyarthi, Nizhalgal Ravi, Chinni Jayanth, Babu Antony, Jean Paul Lal, and Devadarshini in various supporting characters. Music director Sam C S has been roped in to compose music for the venture. Cinematographer George C Williams has worked on the cinematography division of the film. 

Editor Vijay Velukutty has been brought on board to edit the entertainer. Art directors MSP Madhavan and B Sekar have built sets for the project. Stunt directors Dhilip Subbarayan and Chethan D’Souza have worked in tandem to choreograph action blocks in the flick. Sardar 2 is produced by S Lakshman Kumar and Ishan Saksena under their production house Prince Pictures, in affiliation with A Venkatesh for the banner house Ivy Entertainment. 

On the work side, actor Karthi is now engaged in his future project Marshal created by Thamizh in which he will be collaborating with actress Kalyani Priyadarshan, a couple of films tentatively titled Karthi 30 crafted by Kalyan Shankar in which he will be joining forces with actress Meenakshi Chaudhary, Karthi 31 scripted by Mohan Raja, and a Telugu flick Hit: The Fourth Case helmed by Sailesh Kolanu. 

On the other hand, actress Malavika Mohanan is now occupied in her next Tamil movie Pocket Novel filmed by Thiagarajan Kumararaja in which she will be romancing actor Vijay Sethupathi. Actress Ashika Ranganath will soon be seen on screens in the Telugu entertainer Vishwambhara directed by Mallidi Vasishta in which she has shared screen space with actors Chiranjeevi and Trisha Krishnan.
