The two minute trailer of Vadhandhi: The Mystery of Mani opens to the voiceover of actor Sasikumar, “Even animals who kill and devour other animals are unable to commit such an act towards their own kind. Given that, how are humans able to do this?” We then witness a skeleton being dug out to the background voice of Sasikumar saying, “At least those corpses have faces. This is a skeleton on a highway.” Subsequently, we have a judge pronouncing a judgement, “In the case of Mani vs The State this court sentences Mani to life imprisonment.”

The scene shifts to Sasikumar as a cop telling his colleague, “That kid was sentenced because we identified those skeletal remains. We have a role to play in this verdict he received.” Then we have a character describe Mani’s nature, “Turns out the boy would loaf around town with an attitude. As he was a bullfighter and he carried himself with swag, that is how he wooed Nilavathi. He melted her with his sweet talk.”

In a shot actor Sasikumar asks his superior, “But is there any undisputable evidence confirming he is guilty?” He responds, “He did not deny doing it, right? There is your evidence.” Following which actor Sasikumar says, “Lies are like wild bushes. They just keep accumulating like trash. But the truth? That is like a diamond buried deep in the mud. We must dig it out.” The trailer ends with him pondering, “Do I take pride in being a cop? Or do I consider it a . . .”
