Jayaprakash’s The Court Promo: A Daughter’s Endeavor Against Her Father To Prove Her Mettle!

Actor Jayaprakash was last seen on screens in a supporting role in the action movie Magudam helmed and headlined by Vishal with actresses Anjali and Dushara Vijayan in the lead roles. The My Lord actor is now getting ready for a digital release via the courtroom drama christened The Court. Debutant story teller S B Bala has written and directed the series. 

Actress Yogalakshmi of Tourist Family fame has played the role of actor Jayaprakash’s daughter (Yazhini) in the venture. The Court will be available for streaming on JioHotstar OTT platform from 4th of September. Meanwhile, the production house has now dropped a promo video from the series on social media. 

Taking to their official X handle, the team of JioHotstar shared the promo of The Court and captioned it, “தி கோர்ட் One Voice. One Dream. One Brave Journey. The nearly two minute promo of “The Court” opens to a shot of actor Jayaprakash in a courtroom asking his daughter, “How much longer?” She tells him, “Appa . . . it is getting late. Let us wrap this case up.” He then stands up and argues to the judge, “Your honor, as I mentioned earlier, my client is innocent. The defense counsel has failed to appear yet again. It is my humble request that we stop wasting the court’s time.”

The scene shifts to a lawyer present in the courtroom telling his colleague, “At this rate, it looks like he is going to finish the case today itself.” She tells him, “Hey, he is a legend. Besides, who could possibly stand up to his level of experience?” Then accidently Jayaprakash’s younger daughter enters the scene to challenge him in the case. We then learn that she suffers from stuttering disorder. 

A flashback shot shows her rehearsing an argument, “Your honor, a thousand guilty men may escape but not a single innocent person should be punished. Justice should prevail.” Her father walks in searching for his coat, and she tells him, “Appa, I took it. How do I look in this coat? I want to become a big lawyer just like you, Appa.” 

He dissuades her, “You want to be a lawyer? Stuttering like that in front of a judge will not just fail the law, it will fail my empire. This is not for you, dear.” Cut to the present, the promo ends with her informing the judge, “Your honor, I will be representing this case.”

Apart from Jayaprakash and Yogalakshmi, the casting unit of The Court also has actors Sanjana Tiwari, Gurupharan Karthikeyan, Magalakshmi, Venkat Senguttuvan, and VJ Kalyani depicting various supporting characters. Cinematographer Ajith Srinivasan has taken care of the cinematography department of the project. Editor Nizam has been roped in to edit the entertainer. The Court is produced by Rajavelu under the production Company A Tele Factory. 

On the work side, actor Jayaprakash is staring at consecutive releases in Valai directed by Jeeva Shankar in which he has worked with actors Atharvaa Murali & Vani Bhojan, All Pass helmed by Mydeen in which he will be seen alongside actors Dushyanth Jayaprakash & Janany Kunaseelan, and a Telugu flick Ajagrata created by M Shashidhar in which he has teamed up with actors Shreyas Talpade & Samuthirakani. The 28 Degree Celsius actor is now immersed in his next flick Amali Thumali crafted by K S Adiyaman in which he will be partnering with actors Shanthnu Bhagyaraj, Nakhul, & Swathi Reddy. 

On the other hand, actress Yogalakshmi is currently busy shooting for her next Tamil project Arasan filmed by Vetrimaaran in which she will be featuring with actors Silambarasan, Vijay Sethupathi, & Andrea Jeremiah, and an untitled Kannada drama scripted by Abishan Jeevinth & Gowtham Sivaraman in which she will be sharing screen space with actors Shivarajkumar, Abishan, & Sangeetha.
