The two minutes odd trailer of Lingam begins with a jailer calling the names of the accused, “Kavarimuthu, son of Muthaih from Marthandam. Pallu Sundaram, son of Ramayya from Reddiarpatti. Lingam, son of Dhiraviyam from Kanyakumari.” The shot cuts to an innocent looking Kathir subjected to biometrics and documentation inside a prison where he tells the guard he is arrested for murder. Following which we have jump cuts that capture the cruelty suffered by Kathir inside the prison.

In a scene, we have his friend telling him, “The police have no time to find the real killer or his motive. Two towns are burning right now.” Subsequently, actor Bose Venkat advocates for Kathir, “Lingam is like my own brother sir. He is innocent.” Then we have actress Divya Bharathi’s mother asking her, “Did your father raise you just to marry you off to a jailed criminal?” The scene shifts to a cop warning Kathir, “The murder victim’s friends are inside. Watch your step.”

In a shot, actor Kathir mouths, “Listen, I am in jail for a murder I did not commit. If killing is the only way to save myself, not just one, I will kill 100 men.” Subsequent shots establish actor Kathir’s rise as a gangster targeted by rival mob bosses. The trailer ends with actor Kathir asking his gang, “If even the police seek our help, who are we then?” One of them responds, “We are the bigger police.”

Actor Kathir made his debut in the OTT space with the popular crime suspense thriller franchise Suzhal: The Vortex created by directors Pushkar and Gayathri. The casting team of Lingam also comprises actors Poornima Ravi, Nikhila Sankar, Lakshmi Saravanakumar, Ragu Esaki, and Bose Venkat. Actor Vemal has played an extended cameo role in the series. Music composer Nivas K Prasanna has scored music for the entertainer.

Cinematographer Dinesh Kumar Purushothaman has cranked the camera for the project. Editor Ganesh Siva has been signed in to edit the series. Art director G Durairaj has fashioned a background for the venture. Stunt director Ramkumar has choreographed action moves for the entertainer. The series is backed by B Srinivasan under the banner house Vikatan Televistas.
