After being on break for a while due to health reasons, actor Rajinikanth is back on business. The star actor was last seen in the mass action drama Annaatthe which hit the screens under the direction of story teller Siruthai Siva with actress Nayanthara in the female lead. The movie did not live up to the hype that it generated. The Baashha actor is currently busy shooting for his next venture which is christened Jailer. Filmmaker Nelson Dilipkumar of Beast fame is directing the movie. The venture went on floors with a small pooja ceremony last month. The shooting for the drama is happening at a lethargic speed in Chennai. A police station set has been erected to shoot the flick. A video of the set went viral on social media recently. Jailer First Look Poster
Director Nelson Dilipkumar is yet to finalize the cast that will be part of Jailer. There are rumors that the production house has approached actresses Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Tamannaah Bhatia to bring them on board. We had also reported the news. Now, we have info that actor jai will be part of jailer. He is expected to play a vital role in the flick. An official announcement regarding the same is expected to be made soon. Actor Jai ventured in to Tamil cinema by playing the onscreen brother of actor Vijay. If the reports are to be believed it would be interesting to see what role the Goa actor essays in Jailer.
There are high expectations for the drama. The first look poster which had actor Rajinikanth dressed in formal attire had a stunning reception on social media as always. The actor looked young and energetic, powered by stylist Aalim Hakim’s magical touch. Director Nelson Dilipkumar was heavily criticized for his lethargic work in Beast. It is said that the director intends to set things right with Jailer.
Besides actor Rajinikanth, Jailer has Kannada superstar Shiva Rajkumar in a crucial role. The casting of the drama has actors Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu, Redin Kingsley, Vasanth Hari, and Vinayakan portraying various other supporting roles. Rockstar Anirudh Ravichander yet again will be scoring the music for superstar Rajinikanth’s flick after Petta and Darbar. This is the fourth time musician Anirudh Ravichander is collaborating with story teller Nelson Dilipkumar after Kolamaavu Kokila, Doctor, and Beast. Cinematographer Vijay Karthik Kannan will be behind the lens for the flick. Editor R Nirmal will be editing the drama. The film is funded by Kalanithi Maran for his production house Sun Pictures. The Tamil Nadu theatrical rights of the entertainer, has been bagged by Chimbu Cine Arts.
On the work front, actor Jai who had a last outing in Pattampoochi alongside actor Sundar C is currently busy shooting for various of his upcoming projects simultaneously. He is shooting for a number of untitled projects under the direction of storytellers Gopi Nainar, Atlee, Robin Venkatesan, Suseenthiran, and Ramkumar Loganathan. Apart from these ventures, the actor has Coffee With Kaadhal directed by film maker Sundar C in which he has shared the screen space with actor Jiiva, and Breaking News scripted by director Andrew Pandian in which he will be seen alongside with actress Bhanu Sree in various stages of post production shaping up for release.
