Actor Suriya was all set to join hands with Sudha Kongara for the second time after the successful outing “Soorarai Pottru”. The project was announced last year and is expected to go floors in March. But due-to massive pre-production work and delay in finalising the script prompted the Actor-Director duo to postpone the project. Touted as the gangster movie the project is titled as “Puranaanooru”. Once the official announcement was made Actor Surya surprised everyone by announcing his next project Tentatively titled as “Surya 44”. He is joining hands with Director Karthik Subbaraj for the first time and the project is bankrolled by both Surya’s 2D Entertainment and Karthik Subbaraj’s Stone Bench Films.
Shooting is expected to kickstart from May this year and Karthik Subbaraj is currently busy in Pre-production work. The movie is expected to be a mass commercial entertainer which has got all the ingredients to attract the common audience. One of the producers Mr Karthikeyan Santhanam revealed that both Actor and Director have been in talks for nearly 2.5 years and this story is specifically written for the actor. Actor Surya liked the script right from the first narration but both Surya and Karthik were busy with their projects which led to a delay in materialising further.
Besides this Surya will be joining hands with Vetrimaran for the much-awaited “Vaadi Vaasal”. Currently, director Vetrimaran is busy shooting for “Viduthalai Part 2” which is expected to hit screens later this year. Once he is done with “Viduthalai Part 2” he is expected to start pre-production work for “Vaadi Vaasal”.
