Actress Priya Bhavani Shankar last graced the silver screens in the science fiction horror thriller Black scripted by K G Balasubramani with actor Jiiva in the lead role. The Rathnam actress is now gearing up for the release of her next entertainer titled Hotspot 2 Much. Director Vignesh Karthick, who was in the director’s chair for the first part, has inked and crafted the second installment as well.
Actor Aadhitya Baaskar who impressed audiences with his stellar performances in 96 and Jigarthanda Double X has played a vital role in the venture. The production house is keen to bring the film to theaters by the end of this month. An official announcement regarding the release date is expected to be made soon. They have now unveiled the trailer of the movie on social media.
Taking to his official X handle, actor Vijay Sethupathi dropped a special poster along with a link to the trailer of Hotspot 2 Much and wrote, “Here is the trailer of Hotspot 2 Much. Best wishes to the entire team KJB Talkies, K J Balamanimarbhan, Ants To Elephants, Aneel K Reddy, Vishnu Vishal Studioz, Vignesh Karthick, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Ashwin Kumar, Aadhitya Baaskar, Rakshan, Brigida Saga, Bhavani Sre, Sanjana Tiwarii, Thambi Ramaiah, M S Bhaskar, Muthayan U, Durai KV,Digitally Powerful, Velu.” Here is the post made by the actor.
The nearly three minutes long trailer of “Hotspot 2 Much” opens with a dig at casteism where a mother asks her daughter, “What people are they?” She responds, “Our people. Just by a look you can tell.” The mother questions, “How can you say with a look?” She retorts, “They do not have tails. So, they are our people.”
The shot cuts to a political satire where a woman rebukes Ashwin Kumar in a phone call, “Who are you man? You are calling and annoying me on Vijayakanth anniversary.” Then we have a news bulletin, ‘On the occasion of Vijayakanth’s death anniversary chief minister Sivakarthikeyan and opposition leader Vijay Sethupathi have garlanded Vijayakanth’s effigy.’
Subsequently it goes on to take on the frenzied stardom in cinema among fans of two leading actors. We have a voiceover saying, “For the first time in history it is announced that Dada and Raja will collaborate for a film.” There is a tv debate around it and the host asks a guest for his opinion on the matter. He responds, “How would it be if the sky and earth merge? How would it be if a volcano and a whirlwind combine?”
Apart from Priya Bhavani Shankar and Aadhitya Baaskar, the star cast of Hotspot 2 Much also includes actors Brigida Saga, M S Bhaskar, Rakshan, Sanjana Tiwari, Bhavani Sre, Thambi Ramaiah, and Ashwin Kumar essaying various supporting roles. Music director Satish Raghunathan has been hired to oversee the musical division of the drama. Cinematographers Jagadeesh Ravi and Joseph Paul have worked in tandem to capture the entertainer.
Editor Muthayan U has been bestowed with the responsibility to trim the flick. Art director C Shanmugam has engineered sets for the entertainer. Stunt director Sudesh Kumar has designed action blocks for the film. Hotspot 2 Much is funded by K J Balamanimarbhan and Aneel K Reddy in affiliation with C Suresh Kumar and Indu Kumar M under the production house KJB Talkies. Actor Vishnu Vishal will be presenting the drama under his home banner Vishnu Vishal Studioz.
On the professional front, actress Priya Bhavani Shankar will next be seen on screens in Demonte Colony 3 helmed by Ajay Gnanamuthu in which she has co-starred with actor Arulnithi. The Meyaadha Maan actress is presently occupied in his future Telugu ventures Aham Brahmasmi crafted by Srikanth N Reddy in which she will be seen alongside actor Manchu Manoj, and Irumudi scripted by Shiva Nirvana in which she will be collaborating with actor Ravi Teja.
On the other hand, actor Aadhitya Baaskar is currently busy shooting for his upcoming untitled project under the direction of debutant story teller Rajkumar Rangasamy in which he will be reuniting with actress Gouri Kishan after their celebrated onscreen chemistry in 96.
