Actor G V Prakash Kumar lastly entertained audiences in the crime thriller Blackmail directed by Mu Maran with actresses Teju Ashwini and Bindu Madhavi in female lead roles. The Adiyae star has recently inked his signature to play the lead in a project. Debutant director Maria Raja Elanchezian, erstwhile assistant of Pradeep Ranganathan, is set to make his debut as a director with the movie. He has also written the story of the flick.
Actress Sri Gouri Priya of Lover fame will be depicting the female lead role in the drama. Actor Abbas, the chocolate boy of 90’s is set to make his comeback in Kollywood after a long gap with a pivotal part in the movie. The flick has an interesting title. It has been christened Happy Raj.
Actor G V Prakash Kumar himself has disclosed the title with a few posters on social media. Along with the title posters he has also promised to release the first look poster of the entertainer soon. Taking to his official X account, actor and music director G V Prakash Kumar shared a couple of posters from the film and captioned it, “Happy Raj first look soon.” Here is the post made by the actor.

One of the title posters has actor G V Prakash Kumar biting a bling chain with his name ‘Happy Raj’ as a dollar. The shoot for the project is expected to go on floors by early 2026.
Talking to a leading media about why he chose to go with the title, director Maria Raja Elanchezian philosophically expressed, “There is nothing extraordinary behind it. My intent is to craft an entertainer that makes people profoundly happy. Tamil cinema is used to taking audiences to a euphoric state with mass entertainers that induce adrenaline rush. But of late with the advent of social media, I feel there has been unfiltered negativity, and a sense of despair among people.”
Speaking further he said, “I felt the need to make a film that would infuse joy and be a counteragent to despair. Even the protagonist in the story is named ‘Happy’. You will hear the name numerous times throughout the film. As it reflects the essence of the plot. I am confident that the audience will experience optimism and have a feeling of positivity when they leave theaters.”
Apart from G V Prakash Kumar, Abbas, and Sri Gouri Priya, the casting unit of Happy Raj also has actors George Mariyam, Sofa Boy Rasool, Prarthna, Adhirchi Arun, and Madurai Muthu portraying various supporting characters. Music director Justin Prabhakaran has been roped in to compose music for the drama. Cinematographer Madhan Christopher has been hired to operate cameras for the entertainer.
Editor Selva R K has been brought on board to bring coherence to the movie. Art director Gangappan Murugan will be fashioning sets for the project. Stunt master Rajasekar will be choreographing action blocks for the flick. Happy Raj is backed by Jayavardhanan in association with Jaikanth Suresh under the production house Beyond Pictures.
On the professional front, actor G V Prakash Kumar will soon be seen on screens in Adangathey directed by Shanmugam Muthuswamy in which he has co-starred with actress Surbhi Chandra.
The Bachelor actor is currently occupied in his upcoming film Mental Manadhil helmed by auteur Selvaraghavan in which he will be romancing actress Madhuri Jain, Immortal scripted by Mariyappan Chinna in which he will be partnering with actress Kayadu Lohar, Idi Muzhakkam crafted by Seenu Ramasamy in which he will be joining forces with actress Gayathrie, and 13 directed by story teller Vivek K Kannan in which he will be sharing screen space with actors Aadya Prasad, Bhavya Trikha, and Gautham Vasudev Menon.
