Actor G V Prakash Kumar had his last outing in the OTT space via the children’s comedy film Lucky The Superstar directed by Uday Mahesh with actress Anaswara Rajan as female lead. The Kingston actor will soon have his next release in the romantic comedy movie Happy Raj. Debutant director Maria Raja Elanchezian, who previously assisted director & actor Pradeep Ranganathan, has written and crafted the film.
Actress Sri Gouri Priya of Lover fame has been paired with the actor in the project. Happy Raj is poised to release in theaters on 27th of March. Earlier, the makers had shared a vibe check video and a couple of singles from the flick on social media. They have now released the trailer of the entertainer.

The nearly three minutes trailer of Happy Raj begins with actor G V Prakash Kumar recreating multiple vintage classic songs. The shot cuts to him proposing to various women and then giving his different compliments. Following which he complains about his father, “He is a unique kind of father. We would not know when he would bring a plot twist.”
In a scene we witness G V Prakash Kumar’s friend telling him, “Girls of this town know your family’s history. The girls from another town would not know anything about it.” Subsequently, the actor expresses, “Earlier, the girls I was in love with only ditched me. But she appreciates me, sir.” They fall in love and get engaged. But when G V Prakash Kumar’s family enter the scene, everything turns topsy-turvy.
In a shot before the end of the trailer a heartbroken Sri Gouri Priya fumes at G V Prakash Kumar, “Why do you not understand? Without any reasons, why are you overacting?” To which he responds, “Great! That is an amazing performance. Absolutely fantastic!”
The casting unit of Happy Raj also comprises veteran actor Abbas, Sofa Boy Rasool, Geetha Kailasam, Madurai Muthu, George Mariyam, Devi Mahesh, Adhirchi Arun, and Prathana Nathan. Music director Justin Prabhakaran has composed music for the entertainer. Two tracks ‘Aadiney Irupen’ written and sung by Gana Vinoth, and ‘Thuru Thuru’ crooned by Gangai Amaran and Master S Jaahanv in the lyrics of Vivek are already out from the album.
Cinematographer Madhan Christopher has been behind the lens for the movie. Editor Selva R K has been hired to edit the venture. Art director Ayyapan has engineered the background for the flick. Action master Om Siva Prakash has designed action blocks for the drama. Happy Raj is funded by Jayavardhanan in association with Jaikanth Suresh under the production label Beyond Pictures.
On the professional front, actor G V Prakash Kumar is enthusiastically awaiting the release of Immortal scripted by Mariyappan Chinna in which he has romanced actress Kayadu Lohar. He also has a handful of delayed projects in 4G helmed by Venkat Pakkar in which he has collaborated with actress Gayathri Suresh, Adangathey crafted by Shanmugam Muthuswamy in which he will be seen alongside actress Surbhi Chandra, and 13 filmed by Vivek K Kannan in which he has joined forces with actresses Aadya Prasad and Bhavya Trikha.
The Blackmail actor is currently working on his next venture Kadhalikka Yarumillai scripted by Kamal Prakash in which he will be sharing screen space with actress Raiza Wilson, Mental Manadhil directed by Selvaraghavan in which he will be featuring alongside actress Madhuri Jain, and Idi Muzhakkam helmed by Seenu Ramasamy in which he will be starring with actress Gayathrie.
