There has been a huge load of controversies around actor Dhanush throughout his career. The recent one to take precedence is his divorce with his wife Aishwarya R. Dhanush. The heat of the divorce has just subsided and the actor has shifted his focus to his career. The Thulluvadho Ilamai actor was last seen in director Kathik Subburaj’s Jagame Thandhiram. The film garnered mixed reviews and did not fair in the box office as expected. The actor is now gearing up for the release of his next action thriller titled Maaran. Film maker Karthick Naren who made heads turn his way on his debut with his stunning thriller drama Dhuruvangal Pathinaaru has helmed the entertainer. The film is set for a digital release in the Disney + Hotstar OTT content platform. The flick will be premiered on the platform from 11th of March.
Now the production house has dropped the trailer of the entertainer. The two minutes cut is hasty and action packed. Production house Sathya Jyothi Films took to their official twitter page and shared the trailer with the caption, ‘Presenting you the official Maaran trailer unlocked by fans. The trailer, opens with a police convoy shot from the god’s eye view along with a voice over saying, ‘He’s going up against all the big shots. That’s attracting trouble by the day. But you have been promoting him repeatedly.’ Then we are presented with swift cuts giving us a glimpse of actor Dhanush’s family in the flick, his relationship with his sister, the romance between Dhanush and Malavika Mohanan. From the trailer we can gather that actors Dhanush and Malavika Mohanan are playing the role of journalists and have broken a news that have hurt a powerful politician Samuthirakani who seem to be preparing for the elections. This action of Dhanush and Malavika Mohanan have put their life under threat. The trailer ends with actor Samuthirakani swearing to come after Dhanush post the elections.
Apart from actors Dhanush, Malavika Mohanan, and Samuthirakani, the film has Smruthi Venkat in Dhanush’s sister role, Ramki, Krishnakumar Balasubramanian, Mahendran, Ameer, Ilavarasu, Jayaprakash, Aadukalam Naren, and Bose Venkat in various other supporting roles. The music for the entertainer is composed by G. V. Prakash Kumar. Cinematographers Vivekanand Santhosham has cranked the camera for the flick. Editor Prasanna G. K has trimmed the film. The entertainer is bankrolled by T. G. Thyagarajan, Sendhil Thyagarajan, and Arjun Thyagarajan under the banner house Sathya Jyothi Films.
On the work front, actor Dhanush who is gearing up for the release of Maaran is busy shooting for his next Hollywood project christened The Gray Man in which he will be seen alongside actors Ryan Gosling, Chris Evans, and Ana De Armas. He is also simultaneously shooting for projects Thiruchitrambalam under the direction of Mithran Jawahar, Naane Varuven under the directorial of his brother and director Selvaraghavan, Vaathi for Venky Atluri. Following which he will being shooting for Sir. On the other hand, actress Malavika Mohanan is currently shooting for her next Hindi venture Yudhra.
