Actor Vijay Sethupathi last graced the silver screens last month in the romantic crime comedy movie Ace scripted by storyteller Arumuga Kumar with Kannada actress Rukmini Vasanth in the female lead part. The Yaadhum Oore Yaavarum Kelir actor will soon have his next release in the upcoming entertainer titled Thalaivan Thalaivii. Director Pandiraj, who has previously crafted successful films like Pasanga and Marina, has inked and helmed the drama.
Malayalam actress Nithya Menen, who has already collaborated with actor Vijay Sethupathi in the Malayalam film 19(1)(a), has once again teamed up with him in the entertainer. Actor Yogi Babu played Vijay Sethupathi’s sidekick in the movie. The shoot for the project has been wrapped, and post production works are underway in full swing. Thalaivan Thalaivii has been shot in and around the neighborhoods of Tiruchirapalli, Tiruchendur, Thoothukudi, and Madurai.
The production house had recently unveiled the title teaser of the flick on social media. Now, they have dropped the first single ‘Pottala Muttayez’ from the venture. Taking to their official X handle, production team of Sathya Jyothi Films shared a special poster from the drama along with a link to the first single ‘Pottala Muttayez’ from Thalaivan Thalaivii and wrote, “Presenting you the much awaited Pottale Muttaye song from Thalaivan Thalaivii . . . A Guaranteed Vibe served sweet for you! A Santhosh Narayanan Musical. Vijay Sethupathi, Nithya Menen, Pandiraj, Santhosh Narayanan, Vivek.” Here is the post made by the production unit.
Music director Santhosh Narayanan has scored music for the project. He has also crooned the song with singer Sublahshini. Lyricist Vivek has written lyrics for the track. The visuals of the song, has Santhosh Narayanan and Sublahshini in traditional attire singing the track along with wonderfully animated characters of Vijay Sethupathi and Nithya Menen.
The title teaser of the entertainer which was released a month ago had a funny depiction of every member in Vijay Sethupathi’s family including himself sweet talking actress Nithya Menen into marrying him. After marriage we see both Vijay Sethupathi and Nithya Menen cooking something and the actress asking him what happened to all the promises he made to her before marriage.
Beside Vijay Sethupathi, Nithya Menen, and Yogi Babu, the star cast of the flick also has actors Roshini Haripriyan, Chemban Vinod Jose, R K Suresh, Deepa Shankar, and Saravanan in various supporting roles. Cinematographer M Sukumar has operated cameras for the venture. Editor Pradeep E Ragav has been engaged to handle the editing department of the movie.
Art director K Veerasamar has designed the background for the entertainer. Action director Kalai Kingson has fashioned action moves for the film. Thalaivan Thalaivii is backed by Arjun Thyagarajan and Sendhil Thyagarajan under the banner house Sathya Jyothi Films in affiliation with Sai Siddharth and G Saravanan.
On the professional front, actor Vijay Sethupathi is awaiting a back-to-back release in Pisasu 2 crafted by Mysskin in which he has joined force with actresses Andrea Jeremiah & Poorna, and Train also helmed by director Mysskin in which he has collaborated with actors Narain, Ira Dayanand, and Nassar. Apart from these projects, the Maharaja actor will soon begin to shoot for his untitled pan Indian flick under the direction of Puri Jagannadh in which he will be sharing screen space with actors Tabu and Duniya Vijay.
On the other hand, actress Nithya Menen is getting ready for her next release in Tamil in Idly Kadai scripted and headlined by actor Dhanush. The Thiruchitrambalam actress is currently occupied in her next Telugu flicks Praana directed by story teller V K Prakash, Ravi Varma filmed by Lenin Rajendran in which she will be seen alongside actresses Lakshmi Sharma, & Mallika Kapoor, and a Kannada project Ommomme directed by Nagashekhar in which she will be associating with actor Chetan Kumar.
