Actor Dhanush K Raja had his last outing in the action entertainer Raayan which hit the screens under his own directorial with actors S J Suryah, Kalidas Jayaram, Sundeep Kishan, and Dushara Vijayan essaying lead roles. The Maaran star is now anticipating the release of his upcoming Tamil Telugu bilingual film Kuberaa. Telugu director Sekhar Kammula will open his account in Kollywood with this flick. Writer Chaithanya Pingali has assisted in shaping the script.
Actress Rashmika Mandanna of Varisu fame will be seen in the female lead role in the drama. Telugu superstar Nagarjuna Akkineni has portrayed a prominent part in the movie. Kuberaa is poised to hit theaters worldwide on 20th of June in languages Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi. The production house had earlier released a couple of singles from the flick on social media. They have now dropped the trailer of the film.
Taking to his official X handle, actor Vijay Deverakonda shared the trailer of Kuberaa and wrote, “Wishing Kuberaa all the very best as it heads to the big screen. Sekhar Kammula sir will always be a special name in my journey – he gave many actors like me hope. To see him now telling a story on this scale, with a cast filled with personal favorites like Dhanush K Raja, Nagarjuna Akkineni sir, Rashmika Mandanna – has me excited. Nearly three minute long trailer of Kuberaa starts with actor Dhanush asking, “How much is a crore?” The scene cuts to a character saying, “Temple is not an ordinary thing. It has the power to unseat the ruling class and replace them with a new one.” Following which we witness actor Nagarjuna Akkineni mouthing, “Only power and money are working in this nation. Not justice or virtue. This is history.”
In a scene we see someone advising Nagarjuna Akkineni, “Demonstrating compassion is a good thing Deepak ji. But it will slowly kill you.” In an intense exchange a heartbroken Rashmika Mandanna says, “Money, power, court all are in their hands. They are the world.” To which actor Dhanush responds, “This world does not belong only to them. It also belongs to me. The money, police you claim they have, none of it will be with them. I will look at it.”
Star cast of the entertainer also has actors Dalip Tahil, Jim Sarbh, Sunaina, Tarun Arora, Anukreethy Vas, Koushik Mahata, Divya Dekate, Saurav Khurana, Madhusudhan Rao, and Col Ravi Sharma. Music director Devi Sri Prasad has scored music for the project. Cinematographer Niketh Bommi has handled the cinematography department of the movie.
Editor R Karthika Srinivas has been brought on board to edit the entertainer. Art director V J Sekhar has fashioned sets for the project. Stuntman Stunts Sree has designed action moves for the flick. The venture is funded by Sekhar Kammula himself under the production house Amigos Creations along with Suniel Narang and Puskur Ram Mohan Rao under the banner house Sree Venkateswara Cinemas LLP.
On the work side, actor Dhanush is working on his next movies titled Idly Kadai scripted by himself in which he will be collaborating with actors Arun Vijay, Nithya Menon, & Shalini Pandey, a venture tentatively titled Dhanush 56 crafted by Mari Selvaraj, and a couple of Bollywood dramas Tere Ishk Mein helmed by Aanand L Rai in which he will be teaming up with actors Kriti Sanon, & Prabhu Deva, and Kalam – The Missile Man Of India filmed by Om Raut.
On the other hand, actress Rashmika Mandanna will next be seen in Telugu in The Girlfriend helmed by Rahul Ravindran in which she has co-starred with actor Dheekshith Shetty. The Sultan actress is currently engaged in a couple of her Hindi films Thama scripted by Aditya Sarpotdar in which she will be associating with actors Ayushmann Khurrana & Nawazuddin Siddiqui, and Cocktail 2 directed by Homi Adajania in which she will be sharing screen space with actors Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon.
