Actor Bharath Niwas had his last outing in the socio-political flick Veeravanakkam crafted by Anil V Nagendran with actors Samuthirakani, Surabhi Lakshmi, and Siddique in lead roles. The Miral actor is now eagerly awaiting the release of his upcoming film titled Kaalidas 2. Story teller Sri Senthil, who directed the first part of the franchise, has also penned and crafted the second installment.
Actress Bhavani Sre of Viduthalai fame and Abarnathi of Maya Puthagam fame have played prominent roles in the movie. Veteran actress Sangita, female lead in Vijay’s Poove Unakkaga, is set to revive her acting career after twenty years with a key role in the project. The makers have publicized that the flick will arrive in theaters on 10th of April. Earlier, they had released the first look poster and teaser of the drama on social media. They have now shared the trailer of the drama.
Taking to his official X account, actor Karthi unveiled the trailer of Kaalidas 2 and said, “Happy to unveil the trailer of Kaalidas 2. Dear Ajay Karthi wishing you great success on your debut . . . Bharath Niwas bro and team wishing you all a massive success. Fivestar Senthil, Sri Senthil, Sam C S, Abarnathi, Bhavani Sre.” Here is the post made by the actor.
The two minutes odd trailer of Kaalidas 2 opens to actor Bharath’s voiceover, “We think killing a man is a severe punishment. But it is a form of freedom for him.” We then have his intro with a back shot of him standing with a bag in a harbor. Following which someone asks, “Who are you? A good man or a bad man? Or a step below the good man, and a step above a bad man?”
Then we have a cop informing Bharath, “Sir, a missing girl case in an apartment.” The shot cuts to him reassuring a woman, “Do not worry madam we can definitely find her?” A man mocks him, “Impossible. A man who was not aware of the wrongdoings of his wife is going to find our girl?” Later we have a female cop telling, “It has been four hours since Mithra has gone missing. The possibility of this being a missing case is very low from this point.”
Subsequently, she informs actor Prakash Raj, “He is a habitual offender. Seven years back, with a thirteen-year-old girl . . .” He stops her and tells her, “That is a different case. Let us talk about details pertaining only to this case.” Then we have actor Bharath saying, “In Mithra’s case I have my suspicion on everyone in this apartment.”
Earlier talking to a leading daily, Sri Senthil revealed, “After the success of Kaalidas, I once again wanted to make a crime thriller about a police officer. Then it struck me why sketch a new cop character when I have the popular Kaalidas’s character in my hand. So, I decided to go for a sequel. The second installment will be a standalone story. The plot wades off from a typical thriller structure into more of a procedural film.”
The casting team of Kaalidas 2 also comprises actors Suresh Menon, Kishore, Prakash Raj, D M Karthik, Anant Nag, Ajay Karthi, and Raja Ravindra. Music director Sam C S has been contracted to score music for the entertainer. Cinematographer Suresh Bala has overseen the cinematography division of the drama.
The editing department of the movie has been handed over to editor Bhuvan Srinivasan. Stunt director Om Prakash has choreographed action blocks for the flick. Art director V K Natarajan has designed the background for the film. Kaalidas 2 is funded by N Yogeshwaran under the production label Sky Pictures Banner along with K Senthil for the production banner Five Star.
On the work front, actor Bharath will soon have a release in Gods And Soldiers scripted by Vijay Milton in which he has co-starred with actors Ammu Abhirami & Raj Tarun. The Love actor is now engrossed in his next untitled project filmed by M Guru in which he will be associating with actors Sasikumar, Megha Shetty, Malavika, & Sathyaraj, and Munnarivaan helmed by Vijay Raj in which he will be teaming up with actress Janani.
On the other hand, actress Bhavani Sre is now working on her next untitled movie directed by Hiphop Tamizha Adhi in which she will be starring with actor Ananth Ram, and another untitled venture crafted by Dharani Rajendran in which she will be seen alongside actors Samuthirakani, Sasikumar, & Sshivada.
