There seems to be some sort of connection between the cop role and actor Vikram Prabhu. The actor who had previously donned Khakhi in films like Ivan Veramathiri, Sigaram Thodu, and Thuppakki Munai is all set to wear the uniform one more time for his upcoming flick titled Taanakkaran. But unlike his other films, where he played characters that held position of power, in Taanakkaran he will be seen as a rookie. The drama is helmed by debutant film maker Tamizh, a longtime associate of director Vetrimaaran. The film is set for a digital release in the Disney + Hotstar OTT content platform. The flick will be premiered on the platform from 8th of April.
Now the production house has dropped the trailer of the entertainer. The two minutes cut is tense, inspiring, and action packed. Actor Vikram Prabhu took to his official twitter page and shared the trailer of the flick with the caption, “Here is the Taanakkaran trailer. Proud of my entire team.” Catch the trailer here.
The trailer open with the voiceover of actor M. S. Bhaskar uttering, “In police, we are given so many masks like, lion, tiger, fox and dog. Now they have given me a mask to wear in front of you.” Then the shot moves to the training ground where a voiceover of Vikram Prabhu, tells, “PRS will be the only college for every police. Competition is the main agenda in the PRS. I will guide you toward winning the competition.” Then a character asks the cop trainees, “Are you an M. A. Criminology graduate?” Up on an affirmative reply she says then why did you come to this job. Following which, we get a glimpse of actor Lal training a batch of students, and mouths a brash statement stating that if he trains a batch, they will surely be gold medalist. We are presented with the hardcore training drills, which some people find it difficult to cope with it. Soon there is chaos and rebellion in the camp. The teaser indeed looks promising and appears to give us a look of how things were in the training ground back in the days.
Apart from actors Vikram Prabhu, actress Anjali Nair plays the female lead role. The film has actors Lal, M. S. Bhaskar, Madhusudhan Rao, Anbarasan, and Bose Venkat in various other supporting roles. The music for the entertainer is composed by Ghibran. Cinematographer Madhesh Manickam has cranked the camera for the flick. Editor Philomin Raj has trimmed the film. The entertainer is bankrolled by S. R. Prakash Babu, S. R. Prabhu, P. Gopinath, and Thanga Prabaharan R under the banner house Potential Studios.
On the work front, actor Vikram Prabhu who is gearing up for the release of Taanakkaran is busy shooting for his next project christened Paayum Oli Nee Yenakku under the directorial of film maker Karthik Chowdhary in which he will be romancing actress Vani Bhojan. He has finished shooting for his part in auteur Mani Ratnam’s epic historical drama Ponniyin Selvan which is shaping up in the post production.
