Actor Santhanam was last seen on screens in the action romantic comedy A1: Accused No. 1 which was directed by Johnson K in which the actor was seen alongside actors Tara Alisha Berry, Mottai Rajendran, Manohar, Swaminathan, Saikumar, and Yatin Karyekar. The venture garnered mixed reviews from the audience as well as from the critics in the industry but it did not enjoy a good commercial business as the actor’s previous ventures. But the actor has numerous projects in his kitty which could bring him back to the profitable zone. We had recently reported that the actor who has been busy shooting for various ventures has inked his signature for a science fiction project which will have the actor in three different roles. Now we have an important update on the project.
The production house had earlier announced that they will be unveiling the title of the flick on 5th of this month. As announced the production unit has unveiled the title of the drama on the social media. The venture has got a funny title ‘Dikkiloona’ a game name popularized by comedians Senthil and Kondamani. Taking to their official twitter handle, the production unit has shared the title of the film with a picture and wrote, ‘Dikkiloona it is! Meet Santhanam in a triple action film! Wholesome family entertainer guaranteed! An April 2020 release. Kalakkalam vaanga!’ The science fiction project will be scripted and helmed by debutant director Karthik Yogi who has previously penned the dialogues of Maangaram and worked as an associate director in flicks like Sawaari and balloon.
The motion picture is set to be bankrolled by K. Sinish under the banner KJR Studios partnering with Soldiers Factory production house. The rest of the cast and crew that will be working on the drama are expected to be announced soon. Earlier speaking to a leading daily about the project, the film maker said, “The entertainer will be a science fiction project with high quotient of comedy and action.” Though the story teller was careful not to reveal too much about the character of Santhanam, he stated, “Right now all I can say is Santhanam will be the hero, villain as well as the comedian in the movie. Their stories will take place in different time phase. If everything goes as planned the entertainer will go on floors in the month of November. We have plans to shoot the drama in and around Chennai,” concluded the director.
On the work front, the actor who is getting ready for the release of his long delayed comedy entertainer Server Sundaram directed by Anand Balki is currently busy shooting for an untitled drama under the directorial of Kannan of Ivan Thanthiran fame and also for his mass action comedy Dagaalty which is helmed by Vijay Anand, in which he will be sharing the screen space with comedian Yogi babu for the first time. Apart from these movies the actor has the third part of his hit horror comedy franchise Dhilluku Dhuddu which is said to be made in 3D and will be helmed by director Rambhala.
