Actor Vaibhav last graced the silver screens earlier this year in the black comedy flick Perusu crafted by Ilango Ram with actresses Niharika NM and Chandini Tamilarasan in female lead roles. The Ranam Aram Thavarel actor is now getting ready for yet another release in his next comedy heist film Chennai City Gangsters. Storytellers Vikram Rajeshwar, son of famous director K Rajeshwar, and Arun Keshav have crafted the movie. Vikram Rajeshwar has been credited with the story. Actress Athulya Ravi of Murungakkai Chips fame has essayed the female lead role in the project. The entertainer has been in the making for a long time. Finally, the makers have now announced that the entertainer will be releasing in theaters on 20th of June.
The production house had shared the teaser and trailer of the drama last year on social media. They have now launched the release teaser of the movie. Taking to his official X account, story teller Karthik Subbaraj dropped the link to the release teaser of Chennai City Gangsters and captioned it, “Happy to present the Release Teaser of Chennai City Gangsters, a fun filled entertainer releasing in theatres on 20th June. Looking forward to the comic rollercoaster! All the best team.” Here is the post made by the director.
One-minute odd release teaser of Chennai City Gangsters starts with a man telling a person, “The matter should be kept as top secret. The man you send should be a dimwit but should be able to follow instructions.” The other character tells him, “A dimwit who follows instructions . . . I remember my brother.” Following which we get a few glimpses of actor Redin Kingsley and Vaibhav dancing around. In a scene we witness actor Redin Kingsley say, “There are four members in that group. Even though they are dimwits, they were top of their game in robbery.” It cuts to a politician asking, “First tell me about the plan.” In a subsequent shot we have actor Anandraj informing his gang that they are going to rob a bank. The release teaser ends with a shot where actor Naan Kadavul Rajendran says to Vaibhav and his mate, “We already have a plan. We just need to execute.” Vaibhav responds, “Tell us bro . . . we can go through with it.” To which he replies, “Oh I forgot it.”
The casting team of Chennai City Gangsters also has actors John Vijay, Anandraj, Naan Kadavul Rajendran, Manikandan Rajesh, Livingston, Ilavarasu, P L Thenappan, Sunil Reddy, Redin Kingsley, and Shihan Hussaini in various supporting roles. Music composer D Imman has worked on the musical division of the drama. Already three numbers ‘Meyya Mummari’, ‘My Maima’, and ‘O Meri Jaan’ are out from the album. Cinematographer Tijo Tomu has operated camera gears for the flick. Editor Suresh A Prasad has been brought on board to oversee the editing division of the movie. Art director Arun Shankar Durai has fashioned a background for the venture. Action master Don Ashok has choreographed action moves for the flick. Chennai City Gangsters is backed by Bobby Balachandran for the production banner BTG Universal Production.
On the work front, actor Vaibhav will next be seen on screens in the fantasy flick Aalambana helmed by debutant story teller Pari K Vijay in which he has romanced actress Parvati Nair. Apart from this movie, he has his long-delayed venture titled Ace Raja Rani Jackie And Joker scripted by director Anil Sunkara in which he will be seen alongside actors Shaam, Vimala Raman, and Sneha Ullal in the shelves waiting to see the light of day. On the other hand, actress Athulya Ravi is expecting the release of her next project Diesel filmed by Shanmugam Muthusamy in which she has shared screen space with actor Harish Kalyan.
