Actor Vijay Sethupathi had a release last year in the period political crime thriller flick Viduthalai Part 2 directed by Vetrimaaran with Malayalam actress Manju Warrier as female lead. The Maamanithan actor is now getting ready for the release of his next movie titled Thalaivan Thalaivii. Storyteller Pandiraj, who has delivered critically acclaimed projects such as Pasanga and Marina, has penciled and crafted the project. Malayalam actress Nithya Menen, who previously worked with actor Vijay Sethupathi in the Malayalam drama 19(1)(a), has played his love interest in the entertainer. Comedian Yogi Babu has portrayed a prominent role in the flick. The production house is looking to bring the film to the theaters in the month of August. An official announcement regarding the release date is anticipated to be made soon.
Meanwhile, the makers have now released the title teaser of the movie on social media. Taking to their official X account, production team of Sathya Jyothi Films dropped a couple of special posters from the entertainer along with a link to the title teaser of Thalaivan Thalaivii and captioned it, “Presenting you VJS 52 – Thalaivan Thalaivii | தலைவன் தலைவி! Nearly two minutes long title teaser of Thalaivan Thalaivii begins with a top shot of a dosa tawa to the voiceover of Nithya Menen’s mother-in-law, “You don’t have to cook at all my dear daughter-in-law. We will treat you like royalty!” Then her sister-in-law says, “You don’t have to worry at all, Arasi! You can forsake any number of people for my brother’s sake.” Then comes Vijay Sethupathi’s, “You have left your parents behind and come with me in full trust. Your parents will feel bad they did not love you to this extent. Wait and watch. I will treat you as the queen of my heart.” Camera zooms to a medium shot of Vijay Sethupathi and Nithya Menen cooking. The actress says, “According to you, is this the way a king pampers his queen?” To which he retorts, “If you don’t like me, go back to your father’s palace!” The teaser ends with actor Yogi Babu saying, “Guys, they are not normal people like us. Take my word for it please.”
Apart from Vijay Sethupathi, Nithya Menen, and Yogi Babu, the casting crew of the movie also has actors Chemban Vinod Jose, Saravanan, Deepa Shankar, and Roshini Haripriyan depicting various supporting characters. Music composer Santhosh Narayanan will be taking care of the musical department of the entertainer. Cinematographer M Sukumar has been behind camera for the movie. Editor Pradeep E Ragav has been signed in to bring coherence to the flick. Art director K Veerasamar has fashioned sets for the project. Stunt master Kalai Kingson has designed action blocks for the venture. Thalaivan Thalaivii is bankrolled by Sendhil Thyagarajan and Arjun Thyagarajan under their home production Sathya Jyothi Films is associated with G Saravanan and Sai Siddharth.
On the work front, actor Vijay Sethupathi has a lineup of releases in Mysskin’s directorial Pisasu 2 in which he has partnered with actresses Andrea Jeremiah & Poorna, Train in which he has performed alongside actors Narain, Ira Dayanand, & Nassar, and Ace crafted by P Arumuga Kumar in which he has shared screen space with actress Rukmini Vasanth. On the other hand, actress Nithya Menen will soon have her next release in Tamil in Idly Kadai directed and headlined by actor Dhanush. The Kadhalikka Neramillai actress is currently busy shooting for a couple of her Malayalam dramas Wonder Women helmed by Anjali Menon in which she will be co starring with actresses Padmapriya & Sayanora Philip, and Kolambi crafted by T K Rajeev Kumar in which she will be featuring alongside actors Lal, & Rohini, a Telugu movie Praana filmed by V K Prakash, and a Kannada flick Ommomme scripted by Nagashekhar in which she will be romancing actor Chetan Kumar.
