The two minutes odd title teaser of Bloody Politics begins with a quotation of Gautama Buddha, ‘All that we are is the result of what we have thought.’ Opening shot has actor Gautham Ram Karthik asking an old man, “Hey Gramps! Why are you still working on this pole? It is just another piece of metal.”

To which he goes on a long elucidation, “What? You think this is just another pole? Similar to the lighthouse on Marina beach, the flagpole is an integral part of any political party’s identity! From the time of ‘Arignar Anna’, ‘MGR’ to ‘Vijay’ who stepped into politics just now, each of them marched in to politics with their triumphant flag bearing pole! A flag post has been at the center of many conflicts. There are many outstanding legal court cases.”

He continues, “Some of these have escalated into murder. If you want to get into politics, you should be aware of history. Whose flag is placed here doesn’t matter at all! Whose flag is seen when you lift up your head, no matter where you stand in this locale, that is what matters. He is the real victor! What do you care about? You need the pole ready in the morning, right? No matter what happens, at the cracks of dawn, the flag will rise high!”
