Actor Shanthnu Bhagyaraj had his last outing in the Tamil Malayalam bilingual action film Balti directed by Unni Sivalingam with actors Shane Nigam and Preethi Asrani in lead roles. The Blue Star actor is now gearing up for the release of his upcoming romantic drama christened Magenta. Debutant director Bharath Mohan, who has delivered projects like Ippadiku Kadhal and Igloo, has written and directed the movie.
Actress Anjali P Nair, who played a supporting character in Vikram’s Veera Dheera Sooran, will be making her debut as a female lead in the entertainer. Actor Bagavathi Perumal has depicted a key role in the project. An official announcement regarding the release date is expected to be made soon. Meanwhile, the production house has dropped the teaser of the flick on social media.

One minute teaser of Magenta opens on a shore to a shot of waves rolling on to the feet of a woman and retreating. A voiceover asks a philosophical question, “Do you believe the universe aligns things? Right now, right here, you are with me! And it is not by chance.” Then an individual enquires actress Anjali P Nair, “That guy is dead! Suicide. You know that, right?” The shot cuts to actor Bagavathi Perumal telling someone, “Kumar has fallen. He has fallen completely.”
He then goes on a long philosophical ode, “This world calls people like you good. But it never lets them stay good. In a forest, instinct keeps you alive. In this world, emotions keep you alive! People like us, who do not show emotions at all . . . first they look at us in surprise. Then jealousy follows! And that envy does not stop until it destroys us completely! If you want something with your whole soul, and if you are ready to bleed for it. The universe does not get a choice it has to deliver. Apart from Shanthnu Bhagyaraj, Anjali P Nair, and Bagavathi Perumal, the casting unit of the entertainer also has actors Archana Ravichandran, RJ Ananthi, Sharath Ravi, Soundarya Priyan Mageshbabu, and Badava Gopi essaying various supporting roles. Music director Dharan Kumar has been trusted with the musical department of the entertainer.
Cinematographer Ballu has overseen the cinematography division of the movie. Editor Pavithran K has been brought on board to chop and patch the venture. Art director Prem Karuthamalai has designed the background for the drama. Stunt master Sakthi Saravanan has fashioned action moves for the film. The movie is produced by Dr. J P Leelaram, Raju K, Saravanan B, and Rekha L in association with Naveenraja K S under the production label Brand Blitz Entertainment Production.
On the work side, actor Shanthnu Bhagyaraj is eagerly anticipating the release of his next drama Amali Thumali filmed by story teller K S Adiyaman in which he has partnered with actors Nakhul, Swathi Reddy, and Nikesha Patel.
On the other hand, actress Anjali P Nair is enthusiastically expecting the release of her Malayalam film Ananthan Kaadu scripted by Jiyen Krishnakumar in which she has shared screen space with actors Arya, Nikhila Vimal, and Regina Cassandra. The Chithha actress is presently shooting for her future Malayalam project Ram crafted by director Jeethu Joseph in which she will be featuring alongside actors Mohanlal & Trisha Krishnan, Shalamon helmed by Jithin Padmanabhan in which she will be costarring with actor Dileesh Pothan & Kichu Tellus, and an untitled movie scripted by story teller Kiran Narayanan in which she will be teaming up with actors Lalu Alex, and Vishnu Unnikrishnan.
