Actor Dhanush K Raja had a release recently via the Tamil Telugu bilingual flick Kuberaa filmed by Sekhar Kammula with actors Nagarjuna Akkineni and Rashmika Mandanna in the lead roles. Veteran actor R Parthiban was last seen in a cameo role in Samuthirakani’s Thiru.Manickam. Both the stars are now getting ready for their upcoming release in Idly Kadai. Besides headlining the film, Dhanush K Raja has also written the script, and crafted the movie.
Actress Nithya Menen, who previously shared screen space with actor Dhanush in Thiruchitrambalam, has depicted the female lead role in the drama. Actor Arun Vijay is said to have played the antagonist in the movie. Idly Kadai was shot across multiple regions of Chennai, Pollachi, Theni, and in Bangkok. The film which was supposed to release on 10th of April this year is now poised to hit theaters worldwide on 1st of October.
Meanwhile, actor Parthiban has shared his experience on working with actor Dhanush. Taking to his official X account, veteran actor R Parthiban dropped a snap of himself with actor Dhanush and expressed, “இன்னொரு தேசிய விருது வாங்கி இருக்க வேண்டிய ‘ஆடுகளத்தில் நான் நடிக்க முடியாமல் போனதும், இணைந்து நடித்த ‘ சூதாடி’ இடையில் நின்று போனதும், இவையாவையும் ஈடு கட்டும் விதமாக ‘ இட்லி கடை’யில் ஒரு சிறு மினி இட்லியாக கௌரவ வேடத்தில் நடிக்க அவரே அழைத்த போது, மறுக்காமல் ஒப்புக் கொண்டேன். நேற்று டப்பிங் நிறைவு பெற்றது.”

Parthiban Dhanush
He begins by evoking the missed opportunities of him working with Dhanush, “I should have bagged another National award. But I could not be a part of Aadukalam. The film we worked on ‘Soodhadi’ was dropped halfway through.” He then goes on to elaborate how he became a part of Idly Kadai, “In order to make up for all this, when Dhanush approached me for a cameo in Idly Kadai, I agreed to be a mini Idly in Idly Kadai.”
He then provides an update on the drama, “I finished dubbing for my part. But I got to witness Dhanush sparkle as a pan India star. He is iron hearted, dynamic as an ant, and a mighty performer.” He then quips about the recent gossip that was on the news linking actor Dhanush with actress Mrunal Thakur. He ends the note by promising Idly Kadai’s release in October.
The ensemble cast of Idly Kadai also comprises veteran actor Rajkiran, Samuthirakani, Shalini Pandey, Sathyaraj, Indumathy Manikandan, Ilavarasu, and Vadivukkarasi. Music director G V Prakash Kumar has composed music for the entertainer. This marks his ninth association with actor Dhanush following their sensational hits in Polladhavan, Mayakkam Enna, Asuran, and Captain Miller. Already a single christened ‘Enna Sugam’ is out from the album.
Cinematographer Kiran Koushik has been behind the lens for the film. Editor G K Prasanna has been trusted with the editing department of the drama. Art director Rahul has fashioned sets for the flick. Action master Peter Hein has designed action moves for the project.
Idly Kadai is bankrolled by Dhanush himself under his home production Wunderbar Films along with Aakash Baskaran for the banner house Dawn Pictures. Actor and politician Udhayanidhi Stalin will be releasing the entertainer under his production company Red Giant Movies.
On the professional side, actor Dhanush is presently occupied in his upcoming flicks tentatively titled D 54 filmed by Vignesh Raja in which he will be costarring with actress Mamitha Baiju, D 55 helmed by Rajkumar Periasamy, D 56 crafted by Mari Selvaraj, and a Bollywood entertainer Tere Ishk Mein helmed by Aanand L Rai in which he will be seen alongside actors Prabhu Deva and Kriti Sanon. He also has biopics of APJ Abdul Kalam christened Kalam set to be directed by Om Raut, and Ilaiyaraaja scripted by Arun Matheswaran in the pre-production stage.
On the other hand, actor R Parthiban will be directing and headlining the sequel of his superhit film Pudhiya Paadhai under the title Meendum Pudhiya Paadhai. Apart from this flick, he has his long-delayed venture Dhruva Natchathiram Chapter One – Yuddha Kaandam scripted by Gautham Vasudev Menon in which he has costarred with actors Vikram, Ritu Varma, Simran, and Radhika Sarathkumar.
