Mandaadi Trailer: Soori Strives To Restore His Village’s Lost Glory In The Regatta!
Actor Soori was last seen on screens in the action-comedy entertainer Maaman scripted by Prasanth Pandiyaraj with actress Aishwarya Lekshmi as the female lead. The Viduthalai actor is now aiming to further consolidate his standing as a lead hero through the upcoming sports action thriller movie christened Mandaadi. Director Mathimaran Pugazhendhi, who previously helmed Selfie, has directed the entertainer. He has teamed up with writers Ameer Jamal Khan, R Mohana Vasanthan, and Thiral Sankar to shape the script of the flick.
Writer Ameer Jamal Khan has written the film’s dialogue. Actress Mahima Nambiar of Iravukku Aayiram Kangal fame has essayed the female lead role in the drama. The film was predominantly shot in Thondi Beach in Ramanathapuram, and in a few coastal zones of Tamil Nadu. Mandaadi is poised to arrive in theaters worldwide on 10th of September. Earlier, the production house had shared a teaser and singles from the album. They have now launched the trailer of the entertainer on social media.
Taking to his official X timeline, actor Soori himself launched a special poster along with a link to the trailer of Mandaadi and captioned it, “Welcome to the world of Mandaadi – where the game meets madness. Presenting the much-awaited trailer of Mandaadi! Trailer Link. In cinemas worldwide on September 10, 2026. The two minutes odd trailer of Mandaadi starts with the voiceover of actor Sathyaraj, “The sea’s endless vastness conceals dangers far greater than you could ever imagine.” Followed by another voiceover, “When the lion vanished, the wolves seized the throne. For twenty years, in your absence, Sattai Puli has ruled the waters of sailboat racing.” Then a character fumes, “Why can’t we question their unjust actions? If we question, they are out to kill us. Is that how it works?”
Subsequently, we have the voiceover of someone saying, “If there is a sailboat team, that is only one, and it is Tsunami Riders. No one can change that.” Then, actor Soori is introduced against a backdrop of crashing thunder. He utters, “How could one call it a village team when there are no local players? I will train these boys and win this competition.” The scene shifts to actor Suhas telling his father, “Just because I abide by the council, does not mean I let the Mandaadians win.”
In a shot, actor Soori advises his team, “If we have to win against them every one of you must be one with the wind and become a true Mandaadian.” Then we have actor Sathyaraj mouthing, “The competition is not to determine who the best sailor is. The competition is one of wisdom.” Subsequently, actor Soori motivates his team, “If we do not win today, our future generations will become mere spectators of this sport. Shift the sails and lap the route.”
Music director G V Prakash Kumar has handled musical instruments for the film. Four soundtracks ‘Madaadi Madaadi’ crooned by Ra Vaaheesan & V M Mahalingam lyrics inked by Ra Vaaheesan, ‘Usure Needhan Pulla’ in the vocals of Kapil Kapilan & Sanjana Kalmanje lyrics penned by Jayashree Mathimaran, ‘Oli Vattam’ sung by Vedan lyrics written by Ritual and Vedan, and ‘Kai Valavi Kulunga’ in the voice of Satyan Mahalingam & Suganthi lyrics inked by Jayashree Mathimaran, is out from the album.
The casting team of the venture also has actors Suhas, Ravindra Vijay, Bala Saravanan, B Krithika, Stun Siva, Krish Hassan, Sathyaraj, Mithun Jai Sankar, Achyuth Kumar, Aadukalam Murugadoss, Sachana Namidass, Ramachandran, Phathmen, Rajapandi, and Rajesh Gopishetty. Cinematographer S R Kathir has been behind the lens for the movie. Editor Pradeep E Ragav has been hired to edit the entertainer.
Art director S J Ram has erected sets for the movie. Stunt directors Peter Hein, Dhilip Subbarayan, and Mahesh Mathew have fashioned action moves in the flick. Mandaadi is bankrolled by Elred Kumar along with V Manikandan under the production house RS Infotainment. Netflix OTT platform holds the post theatrical streaming rights of the project.
On the professional side, actor Soori is also awaiting the release of Yezhu Kadal Yezhu Malai scripted by Ram in which he has starred with actors Nivin Pauly & Anjali. The Garudan actor is now working on his future untitled film helmed by R Ravikumar, Iraivan Miga Periyavan filmed by Ameer Sultan in which he will be collaborating with actors Mirnaa & Karu Pazhaniappan, and Maattram directed by Anjathe Sridhar in which he will be featuring alongside actors Appukutty & Saalai Ravi.
On the other hand, actress Mahima Nambiar will soon have a release in Tamil in Bell Bottom helmed by Sathyasiva in which she has joined forces with actor Krishna, and a Telugu release in Comrade Kalyan crafted by Janakiram Marella in which she has associated with actor Sree Vishnu. The Raththam actress is currently engrossed in her next untitled Tamil project filmed by Pa Vijay in which she will be appearing alongside actor Prabhu Deva.
