Kavin And Nayanthara’s Hi Secures A Date For Release!

Actor Kavin Raj last graced the silver screens in the action thriller film Mask created by newbie director Vikarnan Ashok with actress Andrea Jeremiah in the female lead role. The Bloody Beggar actor is enthusiastically anticipating the release of his next romantic entertainer christened Hi. Lyricist Vishnu Edavan is set to test the waters as a director in the movie. Writer C U Muthuselvan has offered his assistance in developing the story of the project. 

Actress Nayanthara will be seen romancing actor Kavin in the drama. The entertainer was extensively shot in Chennai, Chengalpattu, and Hyderabad. The makers had recently released a single from the album. Meanwhile, we now have news that the flick is all set to release in theaters worldwide on 14th of August. The production house themselves has publicized the news on social media. 

Taking to their official X profile, the production team of Seven Screens Studio unveiled a release date announcement video for Hi and captioned it, “A tale that will steal your heart now has its date locked. Censored with a UA and on the way to theatres – Aug 14, 2026! A Jen Martin musical. Kavin, Vishnu Edavan, Zee Studios, Zee Studios South, Rowdy Pictures, Nilesh Deorah, Girish Johar, Ameet Bhuvan, Vinoth CJ, Sony Music South India, Yuvraaj.” Here is the post made by the production house. 

Nearly one minute release date announcement video opens to a soothing background score to actress Nayanthara in a traditional attire carrying a sickle. The shot cuts to actor Kavin on his two-wheeler, donning a raincoat amidst a drizzle, gaping at the sight. She then waves her hand with the sickle as in to say Hi. Actor Kavin responds by waving back at her with a bemused smile. It ends with actress Nayanthara hopping on to Kavin’s bike as a pillion rider. The project has received a U/A certificate from the censor board. 

Besides Kavin and Nayanthara, the star cast of the entertainer also has late actor Bhagyaraj, Prabhu, Poornima Bhagyaraj, Radhika Sarathkumar, Vtv Ganesh, Mirchy Kemy, Kaviya Arivumani, Sathyan, Adithya Kadhir, Fepsi Vijayan, Kureshi, and Amrudha Srinivasan depicting various supporting characters. 

Music director Jen Martin has orchestrated the musical score for the drama. He has joined forces with actor Kavin Raj for the fourth time following their runaway hits in Dada, Bloody Beggar, and Kiss. Already a single ‘Kannukuzhiya’ in the voice of G V Prakash Kumar lyrics written by Vishnu Edavan, is out from the album. 

Cinematographer Rajesh Shukla has overseen the visuals and camera division for the flick. Editor Philomin Raj has been bestowed with the responsibility to bring coherence to the film. Art directors Kannan S and Sekar B have erected sets for the project. Stunt director Dinesh Kasi has fashioned action moves in the entertainer. 

The film is funded by S S Lalit Kumar under the production banner 7 Screen Studio, in affiliation with Nayanthara & Vignesh Shivan under their home production Rowdy Pictures, along with Umesh Kumar Bansal for the banner house Zee Studios. 

On the work side, actor Kavin Raj is now immersed in his future movies tentatively titled Kavin 09 helmed by Ken Royson in which he will be collaborating with actors Priyanka Arulmohan & Sandy Master, Kavin 11 scripted by director Praveen Paramasivam, and Per Sollum Pillai in which he will be sharing screen space with actors Sanjana & Bala Saravanan. 

On the other hand, actress Nayanthara has a series of releases across industries via Mannangatti created by Dude Vicky in which she has worked with actors Gouri G Kishan & Yogi Babu, Mookuthi Amman 2 filmed by Sundar C in which she has featured alongside actresses Regina Cassandra & Abhinaya, a Malayalam film Dear Students crafted by Sandeep Kumar & George Philip Roy in which she has starred with actor Nivin Pauly, and a Kannada movie Toxic directed by Geethu Mohandas in which she has joined forces with actor Yash. The Annaatthe actress is now busy with Benz scripted by Bakkiyaraj Kannan in which she will be associating with actors Raghava Lawrence, Nivin Pauly, & Samyuktha Menon, and Thani Oruvan 2 crafted by Mohan Raja in which she will be reuniting with actor Ravi Mohan.
