Actor Jai lastly entertained audiences in the romantic comedy film Baby And Baby helmed by Prathap with actors Yogi Babu, Pragya Nagra, and Sathyaraj in lead roles. The Yenni Thuniga star is now eagerly awaiting the release of his next romantic action thriller Sattendru Maarudhu Vaanilai. Debutant director Babu Vijay, erstwhile associate of story teller A R Murugadoss, has inked and directed the entertainer.
Actress Meenakshi Govindarajan of Vattakhanal fame has portrayed the female lead role in the movie. Sattendru Maarudhu Vaanilai is poised to hit the screens on 15th of May. The makers have already begun to promote the film across all platforms by unveiling singles from the flick. They have now launched the trailer of the movie.
Taking to his official X account, director A R Murugadoss shared a special poster along with a link to the trailer of Sattendru Maarudhu Vaanilai and captioned it, “A sudden change in the skies. . . just like life’s unexpected turns. Sattendru Maarudhu Vaanilai Trailer is here! In cinemas from 15.05.2026. Written & Directed by Babu Vijay. Jai, Yogi Babu, BV Frames, Richard M Nathan, G Girishh, Meenakshi Govindarajan, Sriman, Adithya Kathir, T Series South, Team AIM.” Here is the post made by the story teller.
The two minute trailer of Sattendru Maarudhu Vaanilai opens to the voiceover of actor Jai, “If we wish something with all our heart, if our wish is fair and just. This universe will make that wish come true.” The shot cuts to actor Adthiya Kathir saying, “We can look at a BMW and drool. But we should not wish to drive it!”
Following which actor Jai asks Meenakshi Govindarajan, “Will you marry me?” Then we have Vijay’s reference, as Jai says, “Once I decide on something, I won’t pay heed to my own words!” In a scene, actor Yogi Babu says, “To get married is good news, but it should be managed properly. Otherwise, a whole lifetime will be damaged!”
Subsequently actor Jai mouths a romantic dialogue to Meenakshi Govindarajan, “I just can’t believe this, Janu. That everything will get done so soon.” She asks him, “You would not have loved any other girl to this extent, no? Your eyes told me.”
The second half gets serious with the intro of actor Garuda Ram, who announces, “Only those I want can enter my darbar because I am Chakravarthy!” Then we have a character cautioning, “If there is a threat to his position or wealth that man won’t spare anyone.” Following which we witness a henchman threatening someone, “Ask them to pay me with interest. I will leave immediately.”
Earlier talking to a leading daily, director Babu Vijay said, “The title promises a breezy romantic film. But the movie also has a contrasting side of custodial torture. The plot of the story revolves around a man who gets mistakenly embroiled in a crime and gets arrested. This drama will be a concoction of Vetrimaaran, Mani Ratnam, and A R Murugadoss’s works.”
Speaking about how actor Jai came on board, he revealed, “When I narrated the story to him, he was very impressed. He told me that this is the best story he has heard since Raja Rani. He hugged me and agreed to be a part of it. I think this project will be a good launch for me and a turning point in actor Jai’s career.”
Star cast of Sattendru Maarudhu Vaanilai also comprises actors Garuda Ram, Adthiya Kathir, Yogi Babu, Amruth Chandran, Sriman, and Sathyan. Two songs ‘Akkadi’ sung by Thenisai Thendral Deva in the lyrics of Girishh Gopalakrishnan, and ‘Sattendru Maarudhu Vaanila’ crooned by Shreya Ghoshal & M S Krsna lyrics penned by Snekan, is already out from the album.
Cinematographer Richard M Nathan has been behind the lens for the flick. Editor Darling Richardson has been trusted with the editing department of the entertainer. Art director Kannan has designed the background for the venture. Stunt director Murali G has fashioned action blocks for the movie. Sattendru Maarudhu Vaanilai is funded by Babu Vijay under the production house BV Frames.
On the work front, actor Jai is presently occupied on his next drama Worker directed by Vinay Krishna in which he will be collaborating with actress Reeshma Nanaiah, Texla scripted by Aishwarya Rajinikanth in which he will be starring with actors Suraj Venjaramoodu & G M Sundar, Karuppar Nagaram filmed by Gopi Nainar in which he will be seen alongside actress Aishwarya Rajesh, and Khaki helmed by A Senthil Kumar in which he will be partnering with actors Vijay Antony & Indhuja Ravichandran.
On the other hand, actress Meenakshi Govindarajan is currently engaged in her next project Demonte Colony 3 directed by R Ajay Gnanamuthu in which she will be costarring with actors Arulnithi & Priya Bhavani Shankar, Kadhale Kadhale crafted by Premnath in which she will be joining forces with actors Advaith & Anshitha Anji, and My Dear Sister scripted by Prabhu Jeyaram in which she will be featuring alongside actors Arulnithi and Mamta Mohandas.
