Actor Kavin Raj had his last outing in the black comedy project Bloody Beggar which hit theaters under the direction of debutant director Sivabalan Muthukumar. The Dada star is now eagerly anticipating the release of his upcoming romantic film titled Kiss. Dance choreographer and actor Sathish Krishnan has put on the director’s hat for the first time in his career. He has written the dialogues of the movie along with writers Mugil and R Savari Muthu. Actress Preethi Asrani of Election fame has depicted the female lead part in the venture. The entertainer was predominantly shot in and around the surroundings of Chennai. Kiss was slated to release in the month of march in languages Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi. But it did not due to unknown reasons. The production house has now set July as the release window.
The makers had recently released the teaser of the flick on social media and promised they will soon launch the first single from the drama. As promised, they have now dropped the first single ‘Thirudi’ from the film. Taking to his official X profile, actor Kavin Raj shared a pic of himself in the dark along with a link to the first single ‘Thirudi’ from Kiss and worded it, “Thirudi . . . A Jen Martin musical. Thank you Ani sir . . . Pala varsha kanavu Anirudh Ravichander.” Here is the post made by the actor.
Music director Anirudh Ravichander has sung the number. The musician was originally supposed to score music for the entertainer. Unfortunately, he had to withdraw from the venture at the last moment due to other commitments. Soon music director Jen Martin, who previously handled the musical department for Kavin’s Dada and Bloody Beggar was picked as his replacement. Rio has mixed and mastered the song. Lyricist A R Ashique has written lyrics for the track. Interestingly, storyteller Mysskin had registered for the rights to the title Kiss a long time ago. But he gave away the rights to Sathish Krishnan. The teaser of Kiss which was out earlier this year had actor Kavin Raj as a youngster who abhors romantic gestures in public, and as a personality who gets perplexed when the heroine enquiries him about his first kiss.
Apart from Kavin and Preethi Asrani, the casting team of the drama also has actors Prabhu, Mysskin, Devayani, RJ Vijay, Rao Ramesh, VTV Ganesh, and Mathew Varghese portraying various supporting parts. Cinematographer Harish Kannan has cranked the camera for the movie. Editor R C Pranav has been brought on board to work on the editing division of the entertainer. Art director Mohana Mahendiran has designed the background for the movie. Stunt masters Dinesh Subbarayan, Peter Hein, and Rambo Vimal have choreographed action blocks for the project. The film is backed by Raahul under his home banner Romeo Pictures.
On the professional front, actor Kavin Raj is currently working on his future films Hi directed by storyteller Vishnu Edavan in which he will be sharing screen space with actress Nayanthara for the first time in his career, Mask filmed by Vikarnan Ashok in which he will be seen alongside actress Andrea Jeremiah, and Oor Kuruvi helmed by director K Arun.
